I'll be there, whereabouts is the PH section going to be? I assume the upper field, be a shame if the regular CBW folks miss out because of this though.

I always found the CBW to be an extended version of a PH meet though, very similar atmosphere.

Further details will follow, but don't worry - we've worked closely with CBW who obviously don't want any of their regulars to miss out (nor do they want to do anything to detract from their long established and well regarded event!).

PH being a part of it is seen by them (and us) as a very positive move.

Hope to see lots of you there!

Call me a cynic. Is the bar going to be a French run typical ACO priced and supplied bar area? All bars seem to sell standard dodgy beers in ACO cups for a uniform price. Will the P&P have a variety of British ales run by Brits with prices different to then ACO bars? If it does, then good skills, but I doubt the ACO would be happy with anything different being offered so close to their other bars. I'll be in for a pint to test the water though, without doubt!

No different to most events in the UK where a single organisation has the contract to supply food and drink, although it may be branded differently. Whilst British ales might be a nice idea it would also be a logistical nightmare deciding how many barrels to take and the restocking if one mis-judged it.

Hopefully the exchange rate will help with pricing this year though. Voting with ones feet and avoiding the overpriced fizzy stuff is the way to go, although not sure that means it will be replaced with overpriced British ale

I'm afraid that all the bars that are run within the circuit are obliged to purchase their stock from a specific supplier... And therefor there are limitations as to what we can sell. However, we're doing our best to make the Pie and Piston unique and a great place to visit - so please do pop in!

I do miss my ZS180, it came to an end when I disagreed on road supremacy with a deer. At least I did two Le Mans trips in it before it ceased to be :-)

The Porsche parade into Le Mans centre last year was amazing, especially with the Marshals on the Harleys!

I'll be there again this year with an addition. SWMBO in her Vantage V8.....

We're just waiting for confirmation of the allowed opening hours from "the powers that be".

We'll update everyone as soon as possible.

I know you are at the mercy of the le organisers, but some good ales or even draft Guinness would dramatically increase your sales hehe

We're trying our best. Guinness shouldn't be a problem (and is already planned). Good ales on the other hand...

The article hints that good things will happen to those wearing pistonheads shirts, care to expand on that?

It would be good for those of us who can not make it to be able to see video of this event. Do you have plans? I have always wished and dreamed to attend this event but as it is a great expense and my wife won't let me I have yet not made it, Perhaps her premature death or heavy inheritance could change this for future but not this year. Thank you Mr James for this consideration!

You need to think this through JD, CBW's biggest issue is getting in and especially , out. Your strategy of inviting another 150 cars and trying to check them whilst the CBW marshalls also try to do their job sounds like a potentially chaotic scenario.

I cannot see how this is going to work frown

I can't see it being an issue really, going on previous years I don't think the PHFS was particularly well attended and most folks went to the CBW instead. I doubt it'll be a massive increase in cars, by which I mean that it'll still be crazy busy to get in and out. A few extra cars won't really make a lot of difference.

I was going to the CBW anyway, as were the other guys I'm going with, so for us it makes no difference at all. I think your concerns are correct, I just think on the day no-one's going to notice any difference. smile
