Ah that's amazing news. Can't wait. Happy to pay site supporter fees if needed, and if you need moderators, also happy to help out.

that's made my week! Thanks to you all that are involved for standing it up again. smile

All the best with the project.
I will look out for it. I think I was davidscott without the 'l' on there - I get easily confused with usernames and passwords at my advanced age and all the different forums (fora?).

I'll repeat my best wishes for the family.

Wooce - saw a mail from the chaps at Cotswold BMW on the BMWLand Facebook site a few days ago asking what they should do about their sponsorship. I let them know that you were setting up a new site and should get in touch with you. Hope that's ok?

Spuff, absolutely fine and thanks. If they're offering financial support I'll take it, gladly! I'm chipping away at the site, quite a few forums set up now but just trying to sort out a front page which is proving to be more problematic than I thought. I'm also setting up site donations for those that want to donate. Thanks all for the offer of moderating, there will definitely be more moderators this time around. I moderate on another site and there's loads of us, very useful for spinning ideas around, etc.

Cheers.

Have to agree, on both counts.

Are you in touch with Peter, John? Or anyone with Harry?

Had exchanged emails with both in the past but buggered if I can find them now.

No Spuff, not been in touch - don't think I ever had their email addresses.

Murray & Sean are the only ones I had contact with other than Paul, but I lost his contact details when I had a problem with my phone. frown

Wonder how Brocky's doing? Haven't seen him posting here, maybe he's not picked up on this thread?

Aw shucks. Not a problem and it has made it a little bit easier for her as one less thing to deal with.
I saw her yesterday (and today) and told her about the new forum and she thinks the name is great and wishes it great success.
I will sign up over next couple of days too.

How's the hymer exploits Dunc!
You must have been length and breadth of UK by now

Though something inside suggests you've moved it on

Count me in...as person who took the group photo on the Facebook page I would be delighted to help out and join.

Now we need to get more of the members to join. Is there anyway to update the Facebook page or set up a links to the new site?

I did have Ollies mobile number but I mislaid it when changing phones. We need Ollie and Nic to join too.

Cheers

Brocky has been making an appearance on the Facebook site, as has kruppstahl, and Kevin Tang who I believe is the Individual 335i coupe owner (can't remember his handle but had a mix of letters and numbers IIRC). I'm sure he knows Nic's details and also some of the regulars who meet down in Surrey/Hants.

The landing page for BMWLand still says to "please be patient".
Would it be possible for someone to update that, so that the old landers get an indication that a new land is coming soon?

No worries mate - an epic tail of woe, but I'm adamant this one is a keeper once we get it sorted.

Latest updates here - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

In other news, the 118d which was supposed to be the "run-around" in leiu of the X5 had to stand in at last minute for said motorhome and has just returned from a 1,900mile roadtrip to the Pyrennes and back and proved a remarkably comfortable and stellar companion. Only real issue was the lack of the 8-speed ZF box which meant a fairly rubbish average 46mpg over the trip vs the 55-60mpg I was expecting. But otherwise, all good and now in my mind no need for a 3 or a 5 other than sheer opulence. Very impressed by the 1er.

But looking forward to keeping an ownership thread going on BMWLänder! smile
