Bonjour,

Does anyone on here have any experience of using the kart track at Le Mans over the race weekend? A group of us want to have a little session on the Thursday afternoon, I've had a look at the website but was struggling to understand as its all in French.

Does anyone know if its possible to book in advance or is it an arrive and drive type situation? Also is it any good?

Not long now!!!

Mike

Not sure on pricing or whether you can book in advance (although I suspect not) but the new circuit is awesome. We stood and watched to "see what it was like" last year, which turned into watching for over an hour.

The plan is definitely to get out in a kart this year

Turn up, slap down some Euros, join the queue, pull on a sweaty damp helmet, hop in a kart, wedge your can between your legs, off you go.

Great fun

Rock up pissed. Queue for ages. Then rwalise it's shut.
Have a good laugh watching the antics of the utterl wkered dutch anyway.

This year we're going earlier. The dutch have set a high bar, but we're competitive smile

2013, Nissan 'annexed' the karting facility and nobody could get on it. Last year we went, not a bad circuit and not bad karts as far as rentals go. Probably just quick enough to get yourself in to trouble, not powerful enough to close the gap between the beanpoles and the lardies (like me). €20 for ~10 mins based on arrive/drive, and earlier in the week they were quiet enough to get straight on. Helmets were (understandably) rancid so no ripping into those that take their own. Circuit is big enough to accommodate 10-12 comfortably without too much bunching and fairly decently arranged.
