Hello all,

Soon to be moving to Cambridgeshire between Chatteris and Ramsey. Look forward to finding some local petrolheads to meet (& eat) with.

Keen to hear recommendations on any decent Ford specialists in the area, for the Puma, and classic American specialists for the Mustang.

Cheers,

JB

If you can get to know the car club at Mildenhall, there may help/suggestions for the Mustang. There's a car show there each year, but I haven't heard anything about this year - perhaps due to the questions over Mildenhall's closure.

Also worth posting on the East Anglia section as you're well into that territory too.

Out in the fens eh? Keep a look out for the elusive fenland virgins (any girl that can run faster than her brother)!

Cheers for the hints and tips. Mildenhall / Lakenheath could be a good shout.

Dag's, Banjo's, I don't care. Having been spending 2 hours of my day commuting into London on the most expensive rail network with no personal space for the past 3 years the area is very refreshing.

I can put my own tunes on, as loud as I want, can cruise to work in the stang or blast down the back roads for 20 minutes, and am well happy.

Look forward to the Banter.

Running fast isn't easy with webbed feet.

Of course the webbed buttocks mean they can swim in the fenland drains faster than you can run along the bank

Mat Smith of Downham market (matsmithsportscars.com) is primarily TVR focused but also looks after a few American cars, definitely worth a shout, used by a lot of local PHers.
Welcome to the area as well, I'm in St Neots so a little further away but more than happy to meet up smile

It wasn't you I was following from St Neots through the Offords the other week? I followed a TVR from Costa which stopped in at the Offord MotorCo.

Not me I'm afraid - mines up in Blackpool having some paintwork smile
What colour was it? A yellow one lives in Gt Paxton and a black one in Hail Weston.

Was blue iirc. Perhaps just going to the Offord Motorco for some work or something.. Is that chap still a TVR specialist, or is it just old signage?

They still do TVRs, under new management now I believe as well.
Trouble is they had some very bad years and their reputation suffered very badly in TVR circles for poor work.
They're trying to turn it around but I feel they have a very uphill struggle on their hands. As you know I live in St Neots but choose to do a 56 mile each way trip to Downham Market to have my car serviced rather than go to them.

Yes, there's been a change in the security rating there, meaning they need to cancel.

There's always the Retro and Classic at Old Warden next weekend. I'll be there, hopefully with my MX5, but perhaps in the C6 if I can't get the '5 sorted
