Homelink with BFT gate opener

I realise it's a long shot but it worth asking before I get a security expert out.

I recently bought an L405 Range Rover and specified the Homelink automatic door opener. I have electric gates and thought this might be handy.

I spent a fruitless hour or so today, manual to hand, trying to get anything to talk to anything.
The car's Homelink isn't even recognising my remote so far. My gate system is BFT and uses a rolling code which requires further fiddling with after the Homelink has learnt from the fob.

Homelink's site simply repeats the instructions in the owners manual so isn't much use.

Well, after a bit of digging it appears that Homelink is not compatible with my gate system. I would have to fit a separate box, and effectively downgrade the security from rolling code.
Sod that then.

So, anyone who doesn't want to take a £200 gamble, check the Homelink site for compatibility with your stuff before ordering Homelink on your new car.

I have the same gates and the same problem.
My gates had been fitted the month before the RR came (18 months ago)
No matter what you do you will not be able to make it work.
If I remember correctly this is because the bft electronics are the latest technology, but the RR isn’t.
I had the Gate installer back and the only way they could make the homelink work was by installing older technology into the BFT control box (which they did)
I kicked off with the RR dealership and they footed the bill for the conversion.
I wouldn’t bother – homelink is rubbish and a waste of money that RR should be ashamed of.
The signal from the car never seems as good as from the BFT fob.

My gates were installed in 2007 and are STILL too modern for Homelink it seems.
