The only replacement for an M135i is a remapped Golf R. They can reach 60mph before you've even started and have soft touch plastics you'll find it impossible to resist rubbing your scrotum on.
Everybody knows the golf r is the fastest car out there go on "what car did I embarrass in my golf r" thread on the r forum and you'll find these little beasts are fast! In fact faster than a 997 turbosmile

you're going to be replacing a car described by top gear as the 'junior supercar' for a normal sports car. The only way to progress after the Beemer is to move onto the supercars such as the 458 italia.

I'm not anti-leasing, but 11k for two years to do 8k miles per year?!

Can't help thinking you could have spent 11k on a 130i which still would have been worth 9 now!
Not to be a bore but i was thinking along the same lines. I just fail to see how 11k in 2 years is good value to rent a 1 series.

But 11k to run a 997 turbo / R8 / GTR etc etc is much easier to get my head round...

Do you honestly think a car bought from porsche for £55k will be worth £50k as a private sale / trade in in 2 years? Really?

You can get a decent 997.1 Turbo for way less than £55k.
Get one around £40-45k and I suspect depreciation would be minimal, certainly better value than your M135i or a Golf R.

Values seem to be on the up so it's possible

Bought a car from a main dealer for £36k in 2013, now worth £50k. Granted got lucky !

Bloody hell what car would that be?
Aren't main dealer prices a couple k more than private, atleast?
Would have to do some appreciating to not lose more than £5k.

You'd own a 997 turbo though biggrin

The best deals were nearer £8k for 10k/yr.
Ticking the options box is expensive when leasing.
Also the OP included his tyres and insurance in his £11k.

ZZZZZ and what car would you have got and ran for 2 years for £11k with 300bhp and someone else's money when it may well stipulate it has to be under 3 years old?

I also suspect that someone spent significantly more than 11k to rent that Audi A4 you own for a period.

I'm sorry we're not all as thick as you need us to be. It's fairly obvious that you're either the same person or his little friend sharing the soggy biscuit with him while he embarrassed himself all night, given that you joined PH after he shut up and of your 3 posts the 2 I've found so far have been defending him.

Why, do cars spontaneously explode after they exit their warranty period?

E92 335i, E39 M5, Z4 3.0, Porsche 996, 130i, Audi S5 (almost) etc etc - the list is endless and most of those cars will only lose a couple of grand tops in depreciation.

Or get a £35k AM V8V - they seem to have hit the absolute bottom of their dep. curve. No way it would cost more than 11k in 2 years, even including warranty cost.

There seems to be 2 camps, those who don't mind dropping 5 figures to rent a new shiny thing, and then those who think "bloody hell i could of bought [insert car of choice] outright for that, and then sold it in a couple of years and recovered the majority of the cash"

I always take a look at a supposedly good lease deal, calculate the total cost over the term and then think "nah"....

If you can afford it then why not.
Question is how are you funding the 55k?
I'd hazard a guess the monthly payments are massively greater than the lease cost on the 135i.
Rough estimate 5x the cost over two years.

How much do you reckon its cost for two years of motoring in your Audi?

Edited to add, I think 11k is expensive for that car for 2 years too and there were far better deals about than that.

ALOT less than 11k!

Tyres: £700
Servicing: £600
MOT: £40
Repairs: (glove box door, brake light, seat: £200
Fuel: 12k miles at 25mpg: £2115

Total 2 year running cost inc. depreciation (estimate); £3650 + 1k p/y depreciation = £5500

Modifications: £1800 (optional spend, wheels redone, some paint, trim bits etc...)

Sell it tomorrow for £20k and i'll have had 2 years relatively cheap motoring, assuming it doesn't disintegrate tonight.
