Hi

I've managed to get myself involved with someone else's 93 Chimaera which has electrical problems.

I've struggled to find a wiring diagram so wondering if anyone can help?

Its had a few mods including battery now in boot and what seems to be either the removal or relocation of the 100A fuse.

As I'm not impressed with some of the wiring I've seen on it a diagram of what should go where originally would be of huge help.

Can anyone help please?
Thanks

There are some in the bible as its known, a bit difficult to read as they are small and congested but may help you a little. Seems every car is different so accuracy is unknown.

Random loom photos I have on my photobucket. You need to buy the book really.

Hi all

Thanks for the input :-)

Does the bible have an official name or ISBN barcode no that I can find it from?

I will try and enlarge and print of the pics sent to see if I can match anything up.

My main concerns centre around a Brown Bosch Relay that has been cut out (passenger footwell)and left lying inside the car. All the wires bar the and input earth have been taped together and another crappy relay has been wired up to re feed the same circuit but screwed below steering wheel which seems bizarre to me! the wires it switches look to be charging thickness brown and brown/orange and given the car is not charging but appears to have a brand new alternator I suspect foul play!
There is no voltage reading at back of Alternator with ignition on so went looking for the 100A fuse. Found the plate it should be on but no fuse.

I hate it when people make serious changes to original wiring but don't bother to draw a diagram of what they did :-(

I guess it will teach me to ask to be taken for a spin in a TVR lol :-)

This may help, click on the diagrams a few times to blow them up.

CH427 thats a really clear diagram thanks :-)

That should give me a fighting chance and also allows more sense to be made of the other pictures provided.

Thanks folks, much appreciated :-)

I had an early 93 Chim and you will not find a 100 amp fuse! !hey only started using them when Serp engines came along?

Brown Bosch relay relate to fuel pump and ECU relay - Relays have a diode within to block reverse current flow when ignition off?

As for wiring diagrams especially around the relays in front of passenger/under dash - pretty horrendous - near need to start again?

Sorry not much help?

Hi K4TRV

It all helps to build up a picture and looks like the bosch relay is a red herring :-) When I see someone has been "modifying/improving!" I'm afraid I'm very suspicious after all if it aint broke leave it alone etc

I thought when he moved bat to boot he had got rid of 100A.
At least I can stop looking now lol :-)

Gonna take a peek tomorrow and looks like its back to basics

chhers :-)

Hi Turvey,

On the early cars, the alarm/immobiliser doesn't have the wiring to allow the hot start mod either, should you have the need to think about that change!

Chassis are generally better on these cars

Hi all

Just a quick update and to say thanks for all the input.
Wiring diagram really helped and faults were narrowed down to Faulty Alternator (despite appearing brand shiny new)and a bad connection.
Fixed now with 14+ V at back of altenater and high 13+ at Battery in boot :-) Yeh!!!

The car is property of a lady and is for sale if anyone is in the market. 60K odd on clock. Taxed Mot'ed etc etc

Thanks again

Turvy :-)
