Need some help on how to properly extend the memory on a Hudle 2.
I have an SD Card installed but it only lets some things go across and the main memory is still to full.
How can I move everything across?
I've seen some apps and references to 'rooting' but would like some clarity, hopefully a step by step guide is out there or something?

I use Astro file manager. Apps will still be installed on main device, but can move photos, videos etc to sd card.

My tablet is only 16Gb with a 64Gb sd card. Its nowhere near full and its my main tablet.

Why is 'Kit Kat' a problem?
Can I update to 'Mars bars' or something that allows me to use it properly?

Kit Kat is the name of the Android system version, so Kit Kat is version 4.4, they run alphabetically and are named after sweets/chocololates/desserts, so the current one is Lollipop (version 5), previous ones have been Jelly Bean, Gingerbread, and so on.

But you still can't move (most) apps or any data associated with that app with any file explorer unless you are rooted. You could on previous versions of android and I think you can with Lollipop

Ok, I just meant Astro + kit kat doesn't let you transfer media between local and SD, ES does.

Can the hudl 2 be upgraged to Lollipop or do I have to just make so with Lit Kat and root it?

I'm pretty disappointed that such functionality is blocked. Smells a bit like Apple BS. I wrongly assumed before buying that being Android you aren't restricted by Applesque BS and you can just get on and use the device and expand the memory as needed. Really don't see the point in making basic things like expanding the memory so hard.
