I was also in court yesterday. 59/30. 14 day ban. Avoided points therefore avoided a 6m+ totting up disqualification. Client is serving out the sentence on a Spanish beach.
Good work.14 days for 59 in a 30 jars with me a bit though (accepting that I don't know any of the circumstances), not much of a deterrent. Although I guess his (I'm guessing) insurance costs will likely rise.

Possibly re insurance increase, about to find out as I tell the insurance company the bad/good news (depending on which party you represent:-)). Although I suspect that agtlaw's will increase also as the ban is represented on his licence for 3 years minimum, and that he also has to inform his insurance company?14 days for 59 in a 30 jars with me a bit though (accepting that I don't know any of the circumstances), not much of a deterrent. Not that old chestnut again.
Most speedo's these days are accurate within 2mph.
You don't need a speedo to know you are driving over twice the speed limit.
How do you know the OP's driving a modern car? Most speedo's these days are accurate within 2mph.
You don't need a speedo to know you are driving over twice the speed limit.
Judging by his profile the car's 30 years old
(Hint: 2015-1995=?)

The OP's profile shows a 1995 car.
If that's 30 years then I'm close to retirement!

I don't mind even say 120 on a motorway, but 64 in a 30 zone ?
Without seeing the road it's hard to judge. There are several roads out my way that change at fairly random intervals from NSL to 30mph and back again, it's hard to accept that 60mph is perfectly fine at one point but virtually a hanging offence just a few feet further down the road. I'm not talking about busy residential or town centre roads, just typical country B roads miles from anywhere with not a house in sight. I got caught coming out of an NSL into a 30 zone by a policeman pointing a gun back up the road at the point where the limit changed, must have been like shooting fish in a barrel.RYH64E said:

Absolutely. We have these extended "out of town" 30s now and some Einstein in Norfolk decided to make the A11 a 30 a full two miles ahead of the Thickthorn roundabout because at certain times of the day, apparently, a workman was present.20 years ago 30s were sacred and the OP would probably be guilty of being a nut but those days are long gone, and you simply can't know without looking at the road. Way too many sandal wearing green loonies making road decisions way above their intelligence levels/pay grades.

What's behind and to the side of you?
Nothing except a line of about a dozen terrace houses on his side. Fields on the other side. Continues like that for half a mile before it enters East Morton village which is nothing special - decent width road and would be perfectly fine for a 40 limit until the start of the village (as it used to be).Clicky.
