Not up to you to decide "what you take". You'll get what you're given.

Likely to be a ban, although 64 in a 30 is pretty st driving, so you might benefit from getting 6 points and a massive fine, then you'll have nine points and have to drive like a granny for three years to avoid a six month ban.

I have a letter with exactly that...option 1 fixed penalty or to be dealt with by court ? st driving indeed im not going to argue with that.

They've offered you a fixed penalty of six?

Just had a quick chat with a mate apparently as its a notice of intended prosecution letter it can only be 3 points and 100 pounds fine ? There is no mention of set points on the letter just an option to accept the points or deal with it by court hearing.

If they're offering you three points and £60 for that you should go out and buy a lottery ticket.

Fine of up to £1,000 and up to six points, or a ban between seven and 56 days.

Have you already named the driver? Are you sure that's not just the standard NIP text?

I smell a rat.
If you've REALLY been offered fixed penalty for 64 in a 30 you should buy a lotto ticket ASAP before your luck runs out.

Are you sure you've been offered an FPN (£100 and 3 points) and not received an NIP / S.172 requirement i.e. to name who was driving during the offence?

That speed is way beyond the FPN threshold.
