Hi Guys,

Well the car looks promising, does anyone have any info? Waiting for the dealer to call back so I'm guessing it's the usual SOR tightrope sketch....

Not being too much of an anorak, are those brake disks actually ceramic? Not quite a good enough photo but I'm sure it'd show the connecting bolts between the rotor and the hub. It states ceramic though

keep it lit

No they're not ceramics.

I agree they don't appear to be PCCB discs, why would you take them off a Halo car like this?

I took mine off to keep them in a box for when I sold. Then after a couple of years thought how stupid not to use them so they're on again.

There was a definite benefit of lightness which was apparently a figment of my imagination though wink

I often pass by perhaps I'll drop in and ask about it, they'll definitely change the advert when they find out they're steel. Hard to tell to be fair, you have to glance briefly to find out

Hi all. I'm new to the forum, although been using PH for years. I have
some details on the car but feel it would be better via a PM, but cant
see a PM button (like on DDK for example). Any advice?
Regards

Ceramic disc on the back doesn't have the six in a row holes, only four in a row.

Seems strange to have leather buckets in a club sport, could have been optioned from new I suppose but all the genuine ones I've seen have bad nomex.
Also it has 997 rear brake calipers for some reason, could be something to do with the rear steels its bad fitted maybe?

Something is not right, my business partner has called and they won't call him back. As others have said it has iron discs (not a problem but why state ceramics), and it has leather seats (again not a problem but they must have been retro fitted or specced when new).

Sadly it smacks of a bit of a turd when dealers fk things up like this - especially given their rep. Time to walk away me thinks....

I fitted performance fractions discs and pads to mine the other day, there is a definite difference without the Cermaics. Not to mention the mammoth amount of dust that's now produced.

They do give a slightly better pedal feel though.(the ceramic pads that came off mine were Pagid pads, maybe that was why)

Hahaha. The irony of that last comment hehe
As I recall Andy, a post of yours (many years ago) stated you thought there was very little difference in steering feel and that any benefits as a result of the reduced unsprung weight were a figment of everyone else's (and specifically my) imagination......

At the time I figured you must be some kind of knuckle dragging neanderthal if you couldn't appreciate the difference. Just glad you've seen the light smile

Well I won't go back and check but I definitely recall a post I made when I put them back on again saying the steering and general "litheness" of the car was improved greatly. I'm sure I felt the steels were worse when I first put them on though, but I won't challenge you on that wink

As regards this car from HWM, I put (997?) GT3 cup rears on which fitted perfectly on standard calipers and the original GT2 steel fitment which the early ones had at the front so not sure why rear calipers needed changing. But seriously, stating ceramics when obviously steel is a poor show.

I bought my M5 from HWM ages ago and it was a sweet car and a sweeter deal. The more I read the more I feel lucky!

Whatever I said back then, I definitely agree wholeheartedly with you about the steering today... smile

Just a couple of hundred miles short of the magic 50k, as soon as it goes past 50k it'll become worthless so that'll be a relief.
