I am really enjoying this, is has a good balance of pace and mystery.
Although we did not see Anita why would a non sex synth bother to have any 'real' lady parts? Why not be just like a Sindy doll?

Did anyone notice the scene where the male CID bloke gets into the female officer's car?

She's stationary, looking straight ahead, and then rather robotically rotates her head than then smiles as she greets him.

I can't imagine that was random...?
HA. Glad I wasn't the only one to notice that. Maybe there are more robot out in the wild than first thought of and hiding in plain sight.

50p says that the cop bloke tracking them down (cannot think of name) turns out to be a synth.

Just watched it again. I think you might be right.
A bit robotic again tonight at the murder scene in the brothel.

Yep, good one again tonight. Definitely going to watch the original Real Humans after this series has finished.

Was not expecting the sudden cry for help from Anita when she got plugged into the daughter's computer.

Really getting into this now and Gemma Chan is scarily brilliant as Anita!

It may be necessary for them so a simple software upgrade can let them perform more duties! wink

Anita did have the Over 18 only 'extras' in the paperwork, which the husband swiftly pocketed hehe

For me the first episode was a bore fest.

It just seems like a poor attempt of a remake of the movie Ex-Machina.

Probably best to watch the first episode and judge for yourself.
Yes they have reused bits from other classic books and movies. I guess that would be unavoidable but perhaps a little too blatant. So far though, I think it's very good. Then again I don't watch too much telly. So perhaps I'm easily pleased.

I love Katherine Parkinson, but she has a great voice for comedy.

Playing a serious role she just sounds a bit whiny.

And why wear a bra? To be more 'human'?

Series going well from my viewpoint - building it up...

As i understand it they are all fully functioning, hence he got the over 18 authorisation card thingy when he picked her up.
The fact hes choosen not to get jiggy with her as yet, is simply a failing on his behalf smile
At worse he should have allowed his son a go

I find it anything but boring.

Ex-Machina was posing questions about why we create these machines in our own image. This is a very different story. Perhaps not original, but ideas taken from much more source material than the most recent android film.

Edit: to correct who is quoting whom.

I'm liking the slow build, and the different personalities of the synths on the run. I do suspect there is a little more to them than just pure synth. The flashes of the crash and the hint that they were create specifically by one guy (can't remember his name) makes me think that these aren't pure synths but human minds within synthetic bodies. Anita being overridden by the synth "mod".

I also chuckle at Katherine Parkinson struggling with technology, the internet in a box scene comes straight back to me..

Anything with John Hurt (who of course has played an Android in Aliens) is worth watching.

Will give it another go next week, sometimes episode one spend too much time establishing characters.

Does have some very familiar themes. Heck, even Asimovs laws got a mention.
But this was William Hurt.
And John Hurt didnt play an android in Alien - it was Ian Holm...
Looks like John hurt is in it - the entrepreneur behind the lifelike tech breakthrough to be revealed when they try to get to the 'core'...

Well, no. Unless I'm watching the wrong series , and as said above, I think it's William Hurt
