1166 Mintex is what I used to run in my race cars and they worked well , 1144 is more of a road going pad, I could melt 1144s in the rear of my Busa engined race cars which was a sub 500kg, I can imagine in front of a V8 they wont last long at all !! Ferodo Ds2500s were in my last R500 when I bought it and they were good also and wear rate was better than the Mintex pads.
I found the latest DS2500 worse than my stock brembo pads. Maybe they ship tamer versions to Canada?
I switched to pagid RS 14s on my Subaru STi and they are amazing. Much higher Mu, good feel, but they will talk to you at slow speeds. That might be a good option for a V8 in front, and mintex 1166 or DS2500 or 3000 in the rear. Depends on brake bias needs.
In the caterham I switched to Performance Friction PFC01 pads for the 4 pot AP racing fronts. No squeaks and a good solid feel with better friction than the very old mintex (of a type they don't make any more - but probably one step less sporty than the current 1144). Many people really like PFC products - but they will cost you a lot! I'm trying EBC red in the rear, but EBC yellow, pagis RS14, or mintex 1144 might be a better balance (stock rear brakes a wee bit weak vs. front AP).
You may find with such a setup, that you would benefit from a brake bias adjuster to get less power in the rears vs. the front, as well. Pad choices only can do so much for balance.
