A while ago someone posted up a cheat sheet for photography showing the effect of changing aperture, shutter speed etc.

My sister is just starting out and would find it useful. I've tried searching here and Google images but can't find the one posted here.

Has anyone got a link please?

I think photo examples would be more use, and the descriptions of shutter speed and aperture there are vague to misleading.

You're a hard man to please Simpo! (actually I take your point about the descriptions though)

Ok second (and final!) attempt

Thanks but they're not the one I was thinking of.

I think it had something like a silhouette of a man with a progressively sharper background as the aperture got smaller. It might also have been black and white.

If we can't find that one, I'll print off the other two and see if she can understand.

Seems so; that one confuses even me!

I'd take ISO out of the equation to start with because it's an electronic bonus extra, not a true photographic function. Unwrap ISO when the other two can't achieve what you want.

That's pretty clear. Now just put one parameter back to front so they give the same overall exposure and we can pack up for the day smile

I found this really helpful to understand what each function does, its a great learning tool.

If you want to explain the relation between the shutter speed and aperture, then it's a bit misleading? I think the shutter speed should be slower on the left and faster on the right?

You just need to know how much "stuff" to paint on the glass plate, don't you?
