So I'm off to Kos on Saturday...

And the Mail is portraying it as if it were Dunkirk c.1945
Being my third year back there in as many is it going to be that bad? From looking the "abandoned" hotel and police station are in pretty close proximity to our hotel...likely to have too much trouble? May have to get decent rebel insurance to cover any thefts etc....

It might be a good idea to change your Euros before you go rather than relying on being able to use ATMs there. The Greek banking system may go bang at any given moment.
You could also turn it into a working holiday by hiring a boat while you're there and popping over to Libya to collect some passengers. You should be able to charge $1000 per person.

Take a lot of money and hope it does go bang while you are there, maybe bag a nice boat cheap !
Not sure I'd want to be carrying around lots of money in a country that's in economic meltdown and flooded with illegal immigrants! Sounds like most Ph'ers idea of hell - if not everyone elses.Sky news today http://news.sky.com/story/1492046/greece-asks-for-...

Whether you agree with the article or not, I'm puzzled why people, who have managed to cross the border into Turkey to escape the war in Syria, are travelling the length of the country to risk a sea crossing over to Kos and the other Greek islands.Surely once they are coming from Turkey they can't be considered as refugees fleeing from a war zone.
