a few months ago I was out on a photo walk with a few folk.

Someone had what I'd describe as a rectangular loupe hung round his neck that he could use to quickly preview a shot.

Any ideas on where I could buy something similar. Initial search on Amazon hasn't uncovered anything.

I look at the screen and press a button for 100% zoom to check focus.

Ah....I think I've described this badly.

When I said preview I probably meant to say compose. Completely independent of the camera.....hold up in front of your eye to frame a view and get a feeling for composition prior to taking the actual shot.

Nothing overly fancy, to be honest you could probably cut a piece of card in a 4:3 ratio, laminate it and use it.

Use an old 35mm transparency slide frame then.

That's what I first thought, until I saw the link. A loupe is basically a magnifying glass.

Use your hands. Instant, free, and you have them with you all the time. Or look through the viewfinder...
