Just a quick but of advice if I can.

I've enquired about a car for sale (C6 RS6) which is listed privately.

It's on a 58 plate, but when I've done a basic HPI check it's showing as first registered with the DVLA in Jan 2011.

Before going back to the seller, has anyone else come across this? It didn't show as an import vehicle on the check but why else ( apart from a DVLA error) could cause this?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Quite likely been to NI (or indeed properly abroad but UK supplied originally).

If you wanted to send me the reg I'll take a peek and see if I can see anything different.

Shouldn't a 2011 be a C7?

A friend of mine bought an imported TT (I think from Germany) it was a 1999/2000 car, but was given a 2002 plate as that's when it was imported.

It's not 'common' but it does happen.

If it were me, I'd be looking to get lots of documentation so it makes it easier to sell on if you go ahead. People do get wary of anything untoward.

Dr G - thanks very much, just dropped you a PM

Kell; it's definitely a C6 and its on a 58 plate, it's just the HPI report that is indicating that it was first registered in the UK in Jan 2011, hence the confusion!

Had that on my Isle of Mann M3..... Uk spec right hand drive car. The give away if it's an import is the road tax will be Generic private light goods vehicle tax (which was bit of result on the M3!)

That was exactly what it was, Isle of Man car, moved to the UK in Jan 2011 - unfortunately still shows as the £500pa tax banding though!

Just to finish off the thread, decided not to go with the car above in the end, but I'm on the way today to pick up the new steed today - couldn't be any more excited!
