Hello all

Does anyone know of a weighbridge I can go to and get my Integra weighed? I want to see if I've got it under a tonne.. cheers!

I always use my local tip in Skipton. Slip the gaffer a fiver and you can use theirs for as long as you want!

Yorkshire is a big place, a better location would help,

try the local scrapyard or commercial garage, they have weighbridges,

There's one just off j40 but it has opening hours and I'm not sure if it's free. There's one behind the red brick mill in Batley with the same story. Or there's one that's free and 24hours that I always use in Birstal. It weighs each axle an shows you each weight and the total. I'm not sure if google will find the place but the building has a huge sign on it saying "Joint Services" it's just off the A650 near the big roundabouts

Sounds like Trading Standards on Gildersome Spur - which is in Gildersome. wink

Is there still one at the recycling centre on Denby Dale Rd, Wakefield?

There's a list of 'em here: http://www.ts.wyjs.org.uk/downloads/weighbridges.p...

I've used the Gildersome one before, it's automated & unmanned so you can use it any time day or night and it does each axle individually.
Nice one thanks pal!

Is that not just going to give you the weight carried by each axle and not the total weight of the car? I'm unsure if one would equal the other. Morley Waste traders have a weighbridge just around the corner (Treefield Ind' Est') i'd be tempted to use that instead, or at least do a comparison.

Huh, why couldn't you just add them together? Would be useful to know the weight distribution too!

Dunno, just a feeling I get that it won't add up! I was passing by so tried to find out whether it would or not this morning, but found the one at Trading Standards is (presumably) switched off when they are not there.
Morley Waste traders were happy to weigh it though and the girl behind the screen is quite fit too. wink

Gildersome Spur one is live all the time. I regularly use it on nights as a place we pick up from down the road has a habit of overloading our trailers. You have to wait at the stop line for the green light before proceeding over it and you have to really crawl otherwise it won't register. Once you're clear of it just wait for about 1 min and the display on the right will show your weight to nearest 20kg. Sometimes it takes a while for it appear but it does show up eventually. The display is quite hard to read at night too as it isn't backlit.

Typically i'd gone in the wrong entrance and missed the instructions! Had a go yesterday and it works fine when you do it the right way. rolleyes
