340R v 2 Eleven

So.....I was sold on getting a 340R, but I'm now seriously tempted by a 2 eleven.......and at the risk of being ridiculed on here, I only want to use the vehicle on the road!
Mileage wouldn't be high - B road motoring - either car would I think be a decent investment and I'd like one in the garage to use on the right day.....but which one (price difference apart). Advice please!

the 2-11 is stupidly fast!
Mine is primarily driven on the road as I don't get time for a lot of track days at the moment, so don't think it a stupid idea.
What I would say is not having the windscreen does make a difference, for example my wife is not inclined to jump in it with me. You definitely should wear a helmet: stones, bugs, rain etc really hurts "at speed" (*cough* 70, officer).
340R is a beautiful car, but they do need a little more TLC with the VHPD K-Series. I've not owned one, but know a couple of people who do. The upkeep is more. I'm about to curse it, but I've never had any issues with the 2-11 - the Toyota engine has been solid. With the battery isolator I've left it months without driving it when I've been away, and it's started first time and driven perfectly.
regarding attention, the 2-11 and 340R are pretty evenly matched. most people have never seen a 2-11, let alone know what it is, so when you pull alongside them in a car with no windscreen wearing a helmet they take pictures (sometimes dangerously whilst driving - annoying, but people can be idiots!). At service stations, car parks etc, everyone looks. I've never had a bad word said to me in it - everyone has been so bemused by what it was they don't think "ferrari-driving w
ker" (or whatever) it's a nice feeling if you're happy with the attention.
Do it. You'll be delighted with either car. They're both stunners. I'd love a 340R, but I don't want to sell the 211. Best get saving then...

Cost of bodywork repair is a huge difference, as I believe the 340R is one expensive clam (Evo's Harry M had a frightening bill for his once for quite minor cosmetic damage as described in Evo magazine), whereas the 2-11 is multiple panels (about 12 if I remember rightly). I own a 2-11 (now for sale - PM if you're interested), but I have never driven a 340R, so couldn't comment on any other sort of comparison.

I mainly track mine but absolutely love it on the road: noise, drama, fun all off the scale. Surprisingly calm going slow.
Seems bulletproof as well.

I do love driving mine on the road without a helmet, but it's not really a good idea if you come across a pigeon at 70mph, or even a stone chip from a lorry, which would make a bit of a mess of your face!(maybe helmet and biker overall if it's raining)
Rain is the one time when a helmet is a hinderance actually, because at least for me, I sit too low to get airflow over my visor, so rain doesn't clear. A waterproof coat and trousers is more than enough though even in a downpour, unless you're stuck in traffic...
