Put down an M2 deposit today

Wikipedia is wrong. The meeting with BMW senior management was touch & go, but they decided on 7K cars and no more commitment.

I didn't get any news yesterday but it had been mentioned to me as well that further news on allocations and dates would be issued yesterday. Hopefully there'll be some news over the next few days.im still hoping to go up from numbers 4 on my dealer's list.

Had mine confirmed. They had June, July and August build slots, for delivery in August, September and October.

Mine's a September delivery.

Interesting. How is it some dealers are telling people build month etc. Is it all guess work?

A friend who has ordered at the same dealer as me has also had the same response from his contact (Different salesman to me) Told no allocation or build date info available yet.

From what I've read on posts on more specific forum, a few dealers (the larger dealers with higher ///M sales) have got the April/May, July/Aug, and Dec/Jan slots confirmed, but it's the other dealers with only 2 slots that are still in limbo and had the second slot build confirmation put back, so I think it depends on which dealer etc. I've seen that some people have literally been ringing around every dealer to see if any have a 'slot'.

I'm glad I made to decision to not bother with going for a M2 back in the late summer.....

My deposit is down with the biggest BMW dealer in the North East so would be surprised if they only get 2 slots. Saying that I dont have knowledge of their M sales figures.

From what I have seen, some dealers have been pro active and discussed their allocation directly with BMW UK. They are the ones who are able to say how many cars they are due in 2016. Other dealers are awaiting the formal general notification from BMW UK. It is this that has been delayed twice therefor the less pro active dealers are saying that they do not know.

My (large) southern dealer branch has 3 for 2016, May delivery, September delivery (mine!) and December/January.

All confirmed mid-November by salesman but I've received no more paperwork beyond original new vehicle contract and have not been asked for any more money.

Hope it is porkies and I get surprised with a May 2016 car!!

I'm aware from posts in other forum of 3 large southern dealers that sell a large volume of ///M cars that also have 3 slots each with those same delivery times, so probably not porkies and I wouldn't be banking on a May delivery unless the May customer pulls out and you get moved up the list.

Just had a call from my dealer and they heard from BMW UK today and were advised that their two cars will be built on May and October. As I'm second on their list mine is the October car and they will let me know in due course when they will need to finalise the spec and take a final deposit as BMW have not given any guidance on this.

So it seems that build dates are trickling out so if you haven't been given a date yet you probably will hear something soon.

Good to hear. Christ October is a long time to wait though. I was hoping to have one for a road trip next summer.

I think with such limited build numbers (All be it not as limited as 1M) they will be cheap motoring.

Regarding spec, any thoughts on whether a manual Mineral Grey one would be difficult to shift on when the time comes? Sounds like the vast majority are going to be Long Beach Blue with DCT!

Grey looks a bit dull I think. I've yet to see LBB in the flesh yet. Not convinced with it on the videos, but will be popular if only because it's the launch colour.
