Colin Edwards signed my 900 diversion today. It might even be worth money now.

I saw my First VF1000R on the M1 heading home from Sevenoaks in 1983, It looked like a GP bike at the time.

RZ was the Aluminium framed RD500. (as I'm sure you'll know)
Saw my first VF1000R in Vospers Plymouth in 1983 too, was amazed at it - especially the 'cam gear drive' script on the meshed side panels.

If only the VFR1200 could look like one of those.

The RZ500 was the import only version (as well as being aluminium framed).

I bought some leathers from a guy i knew, having agreed a price on them pre-Xmas one year and he had a Euro trackday trip to do yet, so I said no problem, don't need them til Spring, just use them .... which he did , and on going to collect them and pay, they now had " Neil Hodgson" scribbled across the top shoulder ...which I negotiated a £20 discount for due to them now being "defaced".
I was on a trackday working (in them) later that summer and Hodgson was working to ....told him the story ....he was singularly unimpressed...... smile

Yeah I was a bit disappointed I didn't take it Yazza.

Only had it a week curlie. Just wanted something cheap for going to work/taking the girlfriend on. Bizarrely it's been stripped right down and restored by the previous owner. It's not far off being like new despite having done 87k.

Steve - wish I had thought of that - double-bubble , should have got £20 from each party ...!

Alex - I am Loon's P.A. , had an easy year so far ... smile

Keep you busy for a few hours mate!

Im keeping an eye on your thread on the RD forum..

Was out on mine today, ended up popping over to Silverstone with Mr 996 , with both of us standing on his poor VFR , looking over the fencing, watching MotoGP practice, the view was bang on..

The nearest I got to any Pro Am action..
