Took the SP2 out for a quick spin to keep her fluids healthy, and was quickly reminded just how much harder work she is compared to the more modern bikes. This SP2 is 13 years old and HRC's quality still shines through as she feels hewn from granite.

Fantastic thing.

Around £105 inc delivery which was pretty good. Fitted it at the weekend and it looks and fits great.

New Zealand was looking a bit long white cloudy at the weekend.

My Scrambler at Maraetai beach (just outside Auckland) on Sunday afternoon.

That yellow colour tone is great. I thought your R1 in that colour looked particularly good. Where did you get the custom panels made up?
The panels were off E Bay, I can't remember the make of them. The colour is JCB Yellow.

That'll be my new RSV4 John. Didn't need much encouragement to get there either, even running -1 on the front!
And I'm pretty sure it's accurate as my old one ran to an indicated 278 with -1 -2 gearing, when my mates Blade (same as your) was showing 299 as we were side by side. And I was pulling him like no tomorrow this time around while he was still showing 299 (-1 on the front)
This new '4 is like night and day to the previous, MUCH stronger at the top. Finally it can live with the 1299's and S1KRR's

Well I got my SV to 186 the other day.

Then 12, then 78, 147, 8, 156 ...... no idea what was wrong with it but the speedo was having a total hissy fit, changing the speed every second from 0-186, regardless of how fast I was going. It would work lucidly for a bit, and then do it again.

I had new tyres the other day and thought the speedo reader thing could have been put back on wrongly, but as I'd ridden 200 miles before the problem occurred, it doesn't make sense.

It's not the end of the world, but I have now lost the excuse of trying to see how high the speedo will go.

It's from the front wheel apparently. It's a common problem when the wheel is fitted roughly... rolleyes

Will have to see if I can fix it or buy a new one.

The 899s replacement, with 955cc. Surely Ducati are taking the piss now calling this a sportsbike still and not a superbike.

from carter bar onward it was lovely weather even had to change the visor to a dark one, always sunny in the motherland biggrin

2025: WSB owners announce that Ducati can do what the fk they like to make sure they can win...

.... But just to make sure Ducati don't shoot themselves in the foot it was also announced that Suzuki Yamaha Kawasaki and Honda would only be able to race 500cc twins with 3 gars and air restriction.

A control ECU designed by Ducati for the jap four was thrown out after the japs claimed that it would make it impossible to make a 2 tone horn work never mind a racing motorcycle
