having carefully read up on the new rules for hire cars I completely forgot about them today, fortunately it appears so do did the hire car co as they never asked me for this new code

Will be a pain in the pro9verbial getting a new code all the time as I hire cars frequently.

And yes, probably Speed, Plod & law would be a better location. But I am not allowed to post in there yet. And I thought it worth reminding others if they are hiring a car

I've hired at least a dozen cars right across Europe since this 'rule' came into effect, and not once have I acquired, or been asked for a code. Everyone knows it's a pointless reqirement that achieves nothing and benefits nobody.

I got asked by easy rentals at Heathrow, was a right faff going online to get the code. Only ones who have. Also the only ones to charge me an extra day for bringing it back an hour late of which a full day was paid anyway.

Never went back.
