What a pratt!!!

Just managed to do the Sunday lamb, it's now resting, and looked at the window box. Full of lovely herbs and I totally forgot to put any into the roast.

My SiL has been dumped & is staying with us on & off, so she got to choose - Frozen weeping I think she secretly hates us!
Frozen is the greatest movie of all time. Fact.

Anyway, I watched Gone Girl last night. I hated all the super-cool banter at the start of it, but hated it less when I realised that it was all a fabrication for her fake diary. I kinda liked it until she was forced to return to Ben "he just can't act" Affleck but there were so many plot holes it made me angry, like at the end when everyone knew what had happened but all collectively shrugged their shoulders and went "OK, that's a wrap, we're all richer than yesterday so fk the audience."

Been battling 100% disk usage low transfer rate and lockout for 3 days.
An epic struggle of a dimwit armed with various tips from computer forums and youtube.
In my head it feels like this:
Reality is sat on a sofa eating cheesey wotsits restarting alaptop 100 times :/

There's been some highs and some very low lows, but it was all worth it in the end - ULM were the first team today to finish the endurance race on a brutally hot and bumpy track, and first Liverpool Uni team in our 10 year history to finish a foreign endurance event.

I had a truly great day yesterday.

Played Minecraft with the lad in the morning (something new to me, which I hated the thought of, but turns out to be incredibly addictive), much to the missus' displeasure. We then set-up the tent in the garden in preparation/practice for our week away. Then we all went to the cinema to watch 'Inside Out' (a bit long in the middle, but worth it for the end). Then on to a bar at the beach on the lake for drinks and dinner. We came home had a few more drinks then slept in the tent.

I wish everyday could be so much fun!

Back to work tomorrow. frown

22 miles with a driver change halfway - which is a very long way in a car designed and built entirely by students! I was the second driver. Despite us being stuck in third gear since the first corner of the first lap of the first driver, we managed to nurse the car hone whilst almost half of the other 130 teams suffered suspension or cooling failures, or were black flagged for excessive grounding-out

22 miles sounds a bit disappointing but 130 teams,wow that's a big grid.

They don't all run at once - there is strictly no racing in Formula Student for safety reasons, all events are against the clock. For the endurance event, with a one mile lap, there will typically be 5 cars on track at once, spread out evenly and fed onto/ exiting from the track at 2-lap intervals
