I have been rendered impotent by the bank holiday weekend; all the trivial phone calls I was going to attend to were stymied by slackers who've sodded off early. Gits.

An email from HM Revenue and Customs claimed they had sent me a refund. This seemed to run counter to my expectations. According to their email address their admin is in Guatemala. I'm glad I checked before clicking.
I arrived home from Devon to a nasty letter from HMRC telling me I owed them 2.5k.
An hour on hold later after they worked out that they had fked up and had accidentally included the BIK for the company car I havent had for 20 months I have found out that I still owe them money for underpayment of taxes....

£4

I can live with that

Dicky - believe me, far more drastic measures entered my thoughts at some of the silly o clock moments this week!

If ever I am required to say the words Pinot Grigio, I am compelled by unknown forces to say them in a silly nasal voice. This phenomenon defies explanation.

Yes, yes. Thank you all for your kind attentions.

Awake now and functioning at around 60% mental and physical capacity.

I signed on yesterday at the JobCentre. It is no longer a pencil on a piece of string; it is now electronic. The lady I was dealing with told my signature was 98% similar to my stored signature and therefore I was who I said I was. I asked what is acceptable. She said 80% or greater similarity would be accepted as being me.
That's quite worrying, as apparently over 90% of our DNA is similar to that of a chimpanzee, so how do they stop chimpanzees turning up and signing on?

If you have ever passed the jobcentre on signing on day you would be confident that the chimps ARE actually signing on

Not aimed at you Dicky btw, more aiumed at the professional government artists we get around here.

Seems a lot more civilised now. Last time I was there some years ago I was yelled at by a nutter of a woman who worked there for using my phone. She clearly thought she had told me not use it every day for a year and was at the end of her rope about it. I mentioned to the woman who was interviewing me on Thursday that it seemed better now and she asked in what way. When I mentioned about an angry lady who had worked there she said, "Oh, Jean. She's gone now." There was no hesitation. Angry lady at the JobCentre: Jean.

Morning.

These antibiotics that the vet gave me for our Millie ,make her fart.
Funny when she let's one go ,she gets up startled as if to claim her innocence.
