Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 26)
Discussion
Had some good(ish) news today, I am apparently fit enough for the neuro-surgeons to chop open.
The sleep apnoea is still an issue as it means I need a high dependency (one down from ICU) bed rather than a normal surgical bed. I am pleased I am on the list but stting myself about the surgery, I really shouldnt have googled it to see exactly what they were planning to do.

...?
I dont know if you remember but earlier this year I severely fked my neck up, The neuro s are going to cut the front of my neck open, shuffle everything across out of the way drill into my spine then chop out all the offending bits of the intravertebral disc and then put a titanium cage in and fasten it all back together.
It is going to be about as pleasant as it sounds.
I`m not looking forward to the surgery but I am looking forward to being able to feel my hand and arm properly and to not having to take the massive doses of painkillers so I can function.

I had all manner of ailments and surgery in my teens and always came out feeling a hell of a lot better than when I went in.
This has sustained me both in my view of having qualified folk poking about with my innards and my unshakeable faith in the NHS.
You'll be fine.

I'm back to save the thread from oblivion.
Did 2 laps of my exercise route, had a bath and didn't need the heating on whilst drying off.
It really has gone mild again since Monday morning's freeze.
Things I saw on my walk....bad parking in Horseshoe car park by a Zafira, taking 2 spaces and a generic bore wagon
with the lights left on.
How do you leave the lights on on a 60 reg car ?
The local BP is having an M&S refurb.
A Landcruiser parked over the access to mine and 10 other garages.
I suspect if asked the owner would respond.."but it was only for a few minutes"
Well that's okay then !

There's a girl at the bar with the most fantastic legs.
Pics? Your inner dialogue spoke clearly and succinctly. Apropos perving; where's Chunks these days? He's not been here for yonks and the accumulated boxes of Red Stag are blocking the entrance to the snug bar. If the stack gets any bigger we'll have to start running the snow blower with it.

I think a big part of my fear is that I am used to being in control in a hospital situation after working in hospitals for more than 25 years! This has sustained me both in my view of having qualified folk poking about with my innards and my unshakeable faith in the NHS.
