Ordering parts from the US

Afternoon,

I'm planning on ordering a new front to back system for my C6 (Headers, X-pipe and Exhaust) and have been scouring the internet for the cheapest way of getting what I want. It looks like 'Southern Car Parts' has the best price for the setup, but some of the others (e.g. Ecklers) aren't too far off.

Anyone had experience of buying/shipping these bulky items from the states and have any recommendations?

I regularly order parts via Keith Beschi at Eurovettes: http://www.eurovettes.com/contact_about.htm

He uses all the regular aftermarket suppliers (Eklers, Midamerica, Corvette Central etc.), and Ive always been happy with the price. The key for me is it takes the hassle out of international shipping and duty.

A quick side question - I've been told that getting a custom exhaust created and fitted is just as good (if not better) than getting one imported from the states, can be cheaper and take less time end to end. Anyone got experience of custom exhausts/x-pipes/headers in the UK?

Have you tried posting on the UK Corvette Club forum? There are definitely C5 and C6 owners that have gone the custom route.

Hi, I used USAutomotive to get my Borla atak full cat back and they were great. They are a main dealer for Borla in UK. Also can get u all others. Dealt with a guy called Steve. Thinking of headers now.
Also they were the cheapest by far on 3 other company's quotes.
