Had a leak in the loft so figured I'd need to lift some of the loft boards to work out where it was coming in.

The boards are screwed down.

My cordless drill/driver died some time back but I own plenty of screwdrivers

But if I bought a small electric screw driver it would make the job easier...

Wickes had a small electric screw driver in stock, but also a 15.6v drill/driver on special.

I have a mains powered drill so don't really need a drill.

But if I bought the drill/driver surely it would make sense to get the slightly more expensive hammer drill version?

System said they had one in stock but couldn't find it so they offered me a discount on the bigger 18V hammer drill/driver...

I undid 4 screws with it before I found the source of the leak biggrin

I need to avoid this thread, it's pay day and we suffered a few major (very profitable) outages last month. My frivolity fund currently has a red flashing 'spend me' sign on it!

Now, if you could just tell me how to switch the bloody thing off please? biggrin

I know you are supposed to press the on/off button, but it never really seems to switch off and has a spazzy turn of static noise and vibrations every ten minutes or so. Weird.
Weird indeed. Just switch mine off and switch off BT on my device, job jobbed.
I worked it out in the end. I was using it in the garage, I switched it off, switched off Bluetooth on my phone, but it was still 'alive'.

Until I drove my car out of the garage laugh

Good choice. I always find that stuff from HH always arrives next day on standard delivery.
Indeed. As expected it was here today

It's very nice and well made, but tiny (as I'd read)

I'll just leave this here. I've got plenty of pans already, but I couldn't let this go:

Use 'SUMMER15' promo code if buying.

I was reading the "I want a wax coat" thread in The Lounge, and I decided I must have a Barbour jacket! So I've got one of these coming today:

I caved in to one of these a couple of years ago, now trying to save the 800 notes required to get one of these bad boys...

You can pretend you are a Top Gear presenter when you get it.

Unless you plan on going places that are REALLY cold then I advise you go for something with less insulation! I had a Resolute Parka and it was way too warm, even at -20deg.

But then again, this is the frivolous purchase thread!

The Oneplus One still looks like a more feature-filled phone with similar performance and memory, and with Gorillaglass too.

Thanks, I've been looking for a Dual Sim phone to replace my Nexus 5. Most I've looked ah are a backward step or don't fully support UK networks. Shame the Storm shares one of the sim slots with the the sd card.

I'm running the 2nd generation Motorola Moto G Dual SIM. It's a great little phone, although doesn't have support for 4G. The 4G version loses the Dual SIM. frown

I bought a Huawei honor 6 about 9 months ago and I'm really impressed for the price. High spec, Dual sim, 4G, and tough glass (may or may not be of the gorilla variety) Only disadvantage is it's borderline phablet...

I like the look of that. Now, will they do a high power one, with a decent battery and a 4 inch screen? 5 inches is quite a beast to carry around in a pocket...
