I am sure I will post some pics of the socket set when it is delivered later today too!

Just to make you want to buy some even more!

Got mine today to replace the 1/2 I left under the bonnet when I went for a drive ...doh

I had the proper Victorinox version of that second one. It's definitely too big to fit in a wallet if that's what you were hoping.

My Harmoney remote control is beginning to wear out so i thought i would repurpose an old Android tablet into a smart remote for the main living room:

Then i thought some new LED lighting would look quite smart under the TV unit and furniture that could be controlled by the smart software.

The plan is to test how good this socket is and add some Ikea leds and a press of the 'scene' button on the software should hopefully turn on the lighting, TV and sky box.

Well thats the idea if i can work around the Engrish instructions

My Finger slipped.... after reading threads on here about people getting one. Need to get this one to the garage without the missus seeing it.

I keep thinking I should get a ramp for the Caterham build next year too.,

But which one exactly?

It seems that a two post is best for a Caterham, but it does not need to lift a lot of weight?

Any suggestions?

I've been looking at slightly less industrial versions of the one posted. Fits within the wheelbase so picks up the sills leaving corners/centre tunnel clear.

Not sure whether they would work on a Seven considering where the sills are on a 'normal' car is fresh air on a Seven!

TUV approved versions available for about £1k, using a power drill or hand crank to raise. I don't have the headroom in the garage to fit posts.

Sorry forgot to post the picture of the socket set too, the quality is fantastic!

I was a bit surprised at how small it was for the large cost to be honest, but it's a lovely precision bit of kit!

I've been good recently but I have caved in and I'm back to frivolity

First off, despite owning the films on VHS, DVD, BR and Lazer disc I've just preordered the 30th anniversary edition. I could have got the UK version but for extra frivolity I've ordered the american version which has the added bonus of the animated series

Secondly I have ordered:

Just because those drips from the wing mirrors, lights etc really annoy me after I've washed my car.

I succumbed as well to the appeal of not crawling around on jacks last weekend - I went for a mid-rise lift from BH Repairs, which is versatile and compact, and so far I am happy with it as something not too expensive, that will make the most of a normal-height garage - you could probably get all the access you need for a caterham on this by either getting the chassis on the high-lift extension pads, or lifting the car onto high axle stands for gearbox/centre access.

I have a Solowheel xtreme, but as good as it its, 1895 is not blooming cheap compared to others on the market. Got the Solowheel add the battery is small enough wattage to be ok on flights.

If swarfega works in it it will turn out to be a great buy but I'm not convinced it will after trials.

I would have been tempted by that if it wasn't for the Star Wars rubbish. How is that comparable with the rest of the stuff in there? I know Star Wars is probably quite important to some of you looking at some of the stuff bought in this thread but for someone like me that hasn't even seen it and generally hates Sci-Fi, it sullies an otherwise nice product.

Star Wars? Have I missed something?

One of the items in the Mini Museum is part of an original prop from Star Wars IV.

I completely agree but the rest of it outweighed the Star Wars rubbish for me.

Keep the receipt! The Orvibo S20 I got to play with is a pain in the fracking erse. Keeps losing sync with the network, I've tried all sorts to make it work, even running a PHP Cron task that pulses a heartbeat to try and ensure it keeps 'alive' on the network, but it keeps needing a resync (which doesn't work as it does in the rubbish instructions, BTW! Press and hold the button until it flashes blue, connect to the Orvibo S20 network, then enter your Wifi settings, then wait, a long time- the plug will reboot and eventually connect)

I've given up and have now got a few Energenie plugs and an RPi control board - they operate by RF but the ones I've got are only one way, so need to figure out some sort of a feedback loop.

I would be bias, but went for this one because it is portable. It lifts the car up by the jacking points on the sills so the wheels are "dangling" and the space in the middle is uninterrupted so you can get in there and do clutch, gearbox, drive shaft work etc... A lot of the scissor lifts occupy the space under the car so make access difficult.
