Best of luck for tomorrow everyone. I'm really jealous.
I'm jealous too. In fact I'm thinking about sneaking onto the route for a bit tomorrow, 'ninja insurgent' stylee ... And yes, good luck and safe, happy riding to all the jammy gits who got a place in the ballot.

Thanks Dizeee. We both did the lion's share of the work at the front after Boxhill so we wouldn't have managed the time we did without the teamwork. Also big thanks for sharing water after losing my bottle on the bizarrely enormous timing strips and for nursing me up the climbs. Apologies for going mental on the way down Leith Hill.
I think we got the best out of the circumstances. We pushed on at the start to try and bridge to a faster group. Then we caught the neutraliser bike we were told not to pass. Followed that at a pace that was a bit too relaxed for about 10-15km before it finally picked up. I don't think it was possible to bridge to any groups ahead. It'll be interesting to see the fly-by once people have uploaded to Strava but I suspect they'd put a decent chunk of time between us by then.
Some of the faster riders from slightly later waves came up and I'm glad they did because they were prepared to put some effort it and the tempo lifted for the 2nd quarter.

KOM off Newlands. Final sprint was very cool. Some big big crashes as the bunch wound things up through Westminster and Whitehall. Cramping hard by then and was in agony when I launched it but very chuffed with the result.

Max speed 121.3 km/h I think we got the best out of the circumstances. We pushed on at the start to try and bridge to a faster group. Then we caught the neutraliser bike we were told not to pass. As if the 38.2 km/h average and the 58.8 km/h sprint finish weren't fast enough! Chapeau, old chap.

What an epic day and made all the better for riding with someone. One of the highlights for me was when we overtook that wave of cyclists at the start either side of them to bridge the gap to the next load. It was the densest amount of machines I have ever ridden in an that didn't really die down until Newlands, people chopping and changing all over the place, and a HUGE crash in Kingston right at the start that I honestly don't know how I avoided getting involved in, but luckily just avoided it.I think we got the best out of the circumstances. Had a great ride out with a high tempo until we hit the hills, me and Gruffy were staying close to one another and just trying to stay out of trouble. Passed a few earlier crashes on the way too.
The hills were ok, slightly congested, and man what a demon Gruffy is at descending - I just didn't have the confidence to nip in and out of riders down Leith but chapeau for your effort, I lost sight of you by the bottom to a group in the distance and had to work very hard to get back to you. I managed it which meant a tired Box Hill climb, but after that and from Headley onwards it was a great fast blast to the end, with as you say, a lot of the work done by us. Another huge crash on the embankment with what sounded like a large group ploughing into a pedestrian island at around 28mph, hope they were all ok. And a decent run in to the end. I am unsure of my official time, Gruffy reckons 4:11 but will find out once the timings are in. No probs re keeping you hydrated, I still had drink spare at the end
At the end I saw a few injured riders who had been bandaged up and bought back to the Mall. One was a lady who had a broken finger, she told me she had a large collision when a rider stopped dead in front of her to retrieve a lost water bottle.
Great ride, great day, I feel as good about finishing without getting involved in a crash as I do about finishing at all!

That felt fast at around 4:45 and you guys knocked half an hour off that! Later start, on the crosser with 38c tyres. Saw 1 PHer early on, said hi, dunno who it was. (Didn't have my PH jersey on).
Great experience!
May have been me, bonked/cramped before the first hill but made sure I finished it 60 miles with legs that refuse to work/cramp is not fun! Great experience!
Ended up finishing in 5:50, 10mins under my target, but longer than I'd have hoped seeing the course/conditions. Had a good few hello's/come on's from what must have been PH'ers although none were dressed up.
