This young lady appears to be Russia's answer to William Woollard.
I wonder if she would be interested in presenting the new Top Gear?

I got to page 12 of the (at the time 32 page discussion) - and I had to fast forward to the end to post! I will go back smile

Why are the Beeb trying to recreate a format, the analogy triggers broom springs to mind!

My opinion is, I love top gear, the weeks they had full on adventures, the weeks they had studio antics, in my mind it was true Sunday night fun!
The BBC should forget about it, it's lost!
Sky, Netflix, Virgin, all should consider bringing the guys back, on there own terms, and allow the gang to continue their antics using the same production values without the nanny rules of the misguided BBC

Just sayin'

I think it has something to do with the fact that the Top Gear 'brand' brings in a shed load of money for the BBC. To dump it is just not an option for them. I see it as a new chapter, rather than Trigger's broom. I am optimistic about it, but I am a fan of Evans. I appreciate some people can't stand him, much the same as Clarkson (although it rarely seemed to stop the moaners watching smile)

The problem is its like a record company sacking the lead singer of the worlds most sucessful band. Then the rest of the band leave, and so does the producer and songwriter. All they have left it the band name.

Some of the fans say about time too, all their songs were very similar. Forums go wild with suggesting replacements based on how they've been on the TV AND like guitars.

The record company annouce they have found a new lead singer, based on the fact that hes a bit manic, owns some guitars.

Personally I hope it does well, and that JC etc contine on another channel, but if the new TG tried to follow the old format then It will probably fail. It wasn't really a car show, so unless they can recreate the banter, friendship, the writing, etc. its dead.

300m people watched it for a reason. If another bunch of presenters could do well it then every other channel would have a Top Gear.

Perfect, I know, I know, another ginger but at least he doesn't want £5 million every time he opens his fking trap and Emu..... a real hot chick.
If he can be persuaded to do it from beyond the grave! rolleyes
But I believe the Emu is still alive so we just need a stand in for Rod Hull. So, Kelly Brook & Emu would be even more perfect.

Emu versus Chris Evans, I'd watch that.

Evans is no mug. He's a shrewd chap who has amassed his fortune by correctly gauging his target audience. He's managed that trick on more than one occasion. There's no way that he'd try to make a facsimile of the Clarkson/Wilman show. He's far to clever to attempt that.

I believe that he will surprise a lot of posters on this thread.

Didn't the USA do their own version of TG using the same format? I've not seen that repeated endlessly on Dave, so I think you have a point.

I hope they don't send Jodie Kidd to presenter school. I'm sure she's a nice enough person but she just doesn't have any onscreen presence. Mind you, it didn't stop Richard Hammond. Even when he dressed as D'Artagnan last week.

He's had more failures than successes when it comes to TV production.

Evans i'm happy to wait and see how he does. not to say that i like him but can't think of anyone better.

As long as glenister stays away.
Love guy martin but he wouldn't work on top gear.

I reckon ant anstead / fuzz townsend as the "car guy", and then (leftfield admittedly) victoria coren. There's going to be a female and the show needs a hint of intelligence somewhere. and i think she'd be funny mucking around.

Andy Peters if we need a black person
Adam Hills if we need a disabled person

We'll need an Asian person as well just to balance out the PC requirements. Perhaps a lesbian or transgender to add a wider spectrum and maybe someone who knows something about cars to round it off.

The US show is indeed proof that the presenters are more important than the concept.

The US show is often on TV here in Belgium, and it is dire. Perhaps it works for a US audience, but for me, the presenters are trying SO hard to be funny that it is simply embarrassing. I don't think I've sat out a full episode yet...

TG USA did suffer at the start but they have improved since then. A major problem is that one of the hosts, Adam Ferrara, doesn't know a thing about cars (I'm sure at the start of the show he could only drive automatic!) and is just there to be the 'funny' one.
