This is the 10th time I have stayed on BSJ camp site and I must say that all the improvements are greatly appreciated. In the past it has been a lawless madmax style wasteland now we have;
clean toilets with loo paper all the time !!!
Security right up till Monday lunchtime
gravel hard surface roads
great views before the Porsche curves.
No hassles to get in or out
Even the loud techno music and mortar football cannon have gone

I can't wait to go back there for 2016 !

How did everyone else find it?

Also impressed this year. The new gravel was very appreciated, and as you say seemed very level headed In general other than some tvr louts making lots of noise smile

Are the pitches large enough for an RV or do you have to book 2 pitches together?

Were you on the same BSJ as me? The mortar was still going, although not as often as previous years...

Definitely agree about the rest though, it does seem to get better each year too.

No hassle getting in?! The constant searches were a bit of a drag, but it seemed to do the job as all the fireworks I saw were in the distance.

They try and put our caravan in this field every year. Pointing where I want to go and shrugging when they barrage French at me usually works...

I saw a load of Motor homes on hard standing near the roundabout couldn't swing a cat between them not my scene. I want to be parked on grass.

Blimey! Was this the same on any other sites? After experiencing the sunday evening wastelands first visit we've always left Sunday - pack up in morning and position car for getaway at 3pm sharp. Might be tempted to stay if security is in place.

Related: I gather from friends on BSJ it took 3 hours to get out of the site Sunday afternoon... resulting in missed channel crossing.

Ahh, I'd forgotten the random bag searches to get in to the circuit. Not random as in not-everyone-gets-checked but random as in having run low on backpacking-sized gas I popped out to get some Sat. morning and got a "non" at the Antares entrance...but a "pas problem" at the Houx->circuit check.

Concistency has always been the watch word at Le Mans (or is that just in France...).

Improving year on year.

Security checks only took 20 secs and there was never a queue for us. Plus it kept out the oikeys sun night/Monday morning.

Clean toilets, usually walked straight in. One prob was they never filled up the soap.

Nothing got stolen like other sites.

If they have security until Monday we could be tempted to go back to BSJ - as a location it is good but the worry about leaving things there, particularly at the end of the race and then not being at all happy to leave anything on Sunday evening means we haven't been for a few years. Good to know it has improved.

I was camped in BSJ, and did not see any type characters, apart from the chap with the 918...had a few randoms wandering through the site though best one was this chap who wanted to hump one of our team

Camped till Monday and security was present on the gate when we left at 0900, there was always a queue for the toilets though and the showers near the bar by speedchills had a queue 30 deep on Saturday morning and where cold on Monday morning at 0600

We stayed at BSJ. Arrived Thurs. The "security" checks were laughable, nothing but nothing was found in any vehicle so utterly pointless.

Got woken up early on Friday by French Trumpton putting out a large fire in some poor sods panel van.

Pretty decent apart from that, showers and toilets reasonable.

Sunday evening saw a few fireworks going off and there was some twunts doing donuts in an old 3 series and a LWB White van. Made a right mess of the grass, left it looking like Haringey Speedway track.

We left Monday mid morning, was one security guard on the gate.

We had nothing nicked, saw no diddycoys , and had a great weekend.

BSJ was much more relaxed than in previous years and although we were behind the security fencing of the Speedchills enclosure everyone commented on the lack of feral behaviour (especially on Sunday night) - good to see and hopefully will improve year on year.

TVRs making noise.... must be me then... small sorry for the big noise

Camp was good although Chinese lanterns are a worry, falling fire bombs on your tent is nice and comforting when you are trying to sleep

I thought bsj seemed quite quiet this year, we had a pissed up french tramp looking gentleman after a free beer but told him to fk off, he was wearing a black red bull jacket which he clearly didn't buy, he went round all the camps on the cadge then knocked over a beer mountain and was removed by the Belgians opposite. Sunday night was quite lively but just lads letting off a bit of steam. We'll be back in bsj next year.
