fiat 500 - won't start - help plz.

Hi,

My Fiat 500 (59 plate) automatic gear box, completed 55k miles, won't start today (without any warning signs).

When you put the ignition key in and turn you get a beeping sound and a check transmission warning light. Have tried putting the automatic gear box in different modes positions but get no joy.

Any thoughts on what this could be? / known issue?

I'd start by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes (leave the doors open)

If no joy, call the AA/RAC?

Will the car even turn over?

As you turn the ignition to posistion III (i.e. ignition) depress the brake pedal a few times...the MTA version can have a wobble with the pedal sensor.

Got it working again. Apparently the battery had a fault (had to call AA in the end). So new battery and the car has been working fine since. Still not totally convinced a 4yr battery just gives up the ghost over night and will no longer hold charge. but there you go.
