Hello,

Looking for a bit of assitance from those familiar with manufacturers model ranges...

Can somebody suggest a cheaper alternative (Casio, Seiko, etc) to the Brietling Aerospace?

Similar design with blend of digital functions on mini screen on a simple analogue face. I appreciate that it will not have the crown function but just looking for something with similar simplicity and alarm function.

I am aware of the Victorinox Chrono Classic XLS MT

http://www.victorinox.com/ch/product/Timepieces/Ca...

but it's still more than I would be willing to pay (looking for approx £250 max).

Many thanks,

PJ S

The nearest I could find, since I really don't bother with this type of hybrid watch, are these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Momentum-Mens-Quartz-Ana...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TISSOT-T690-ANALOG-DIGIT...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tag-Heuer-F1-Chronotimer...

There is an older Tissot one, but I can't remember the model number - it used the same module as the Aerospace (as probably does the Victorinox).

In all honesty, seriously consider putting the extra to your budget and grab the Victorinox.

Pulsar NX-14?

Cheap as chips, but more Omega X-33 in style.

The only other watch I can think of that comes close(ish) is Hamilton's Khaki Flight Timer, though it's way out of budget.

If you're looking at ana-digi then Casio's Edifice and Citizen's Skyhawk ranges might be worth a gander, granted they're both much busier in design though.

I had one of those Titanium Tissot T690 - abused it but finally died with rusty innards and covered in weld splatter after trying out my new MIG welder banghead

Owkay...

So, having seen a few of the alternatives in the flesh it appears Aerospace might be worth the investment.

Anybody able to recommend a good second hand dealer (ideally in Glasgow/Edinburgh). I prefer the slightly older design (around 2003-2007) as the current model is a bit "blingey". I'm thinking secondhand might be the way to proceed.

Many thanks,

I have a T660, still going strong. An excellent watch from the days before Tissot were moved down market.
