soon i'm looking to buy a new car, i saw the chromaflair paint that they used on TVR's and i have always thought they looked extremely cool because of it. i was thinking of doing the job myself as the paint alone is very expensive. i have no experience but my thought is that if i research into it and practice before i start then i should be ok.

the only thing im not sure about is how chromaflair paint would effect my insurance premium.

does anyone have chromaflair paint? have you had an insurance quote for it? what did it it cost compared to a regular price for your car?

do i even have to declare it to the insurance company?

any input welcome, thanks.

I don't know if the insurance companies have cottoned on yet , most hadn't 10 years ago .
From talking to our sprayers at the time it needs care to lay it on the car all in the same direction , as the light hits it it changes as the angle changes , if done wrong a panel sticks out like a sore thumb .
The paint was very expensive on some , £600 for 0.5ltr sticks in my mind .
It was an option on Nissan Micra of all things , cost £1k + to repair a rear bumper .
Good luck .
