Whilst underneath my car I noticed the rubbery undercoat coming away and after pulling some off I've been met with this..

I've took a wire wheel to it to see how bad it is.

No the car isn't worth much so I'm not sure what the best course of action is? Thinking just waxoyl over it?

A bit of underseal should be fine. Maybe a bit of cardboard stuck on with bathroom sealant before painting the underseal on to give the paint some purchase.

Ideally it'll want the carpet removing, cut back to good metal and weld in a plate. I'd also suggest thinking of a better place for the axle stands!!

This. Also make sure you dribble the sealant around the edges to resemble welding before applying the underseal.

It's just not worth welding new plates in for how much the car is worth. Not too worried about making it look like it was before just as long as I can slow down the process.

Wont last long when the mot inspector sees it and puts his screwdriver through!

That's what bribes are for.

I'd say the process has run its course. As you aren't interested in a proper fix, time to scrap it or sell as is.
