Do you need anything more than a 320d?

Fair play! and I respect your dedication I was 10 stone from aged 16 to 32 but the last 10 years I have put it on, almost 42 now and if I gave up the drink I would soon be back to 10 stone but I am not giving that up! but I have to run or I would just pile it on.
I'm 43. 63kg, 8% bodyfat, can bench and squat double my body weight.....and drink like a fish (but avoid beer most of the time). Life is all about moderation. 6 days/wk in the gym offsets the taste for drink. As I was told.....nothing tastes as good as walking on a beach with a six pack feels.
I think the thread should be renamed.
'Do you need anything more than 8% body fat?'
'Do you need more than a 80kg bench press?'
'Do you need to be taller than a girl?'
In seriousness, Ares has alleviated my credibility concerns. 5'6 and that bench press number make sense, but a 63kg man of normal (no offence, Ares) height wouldn't be able to open the door of a 320d

my E90 allows me to take whatever stance I want to in a corner and to control the car smoothly between u/s o/s and n/s, and to me that defines 'good handling'. It's good handling for a 1350kg car
I think you'll find your 320d will be closer to 1450 kg at least Rob.Get it on some scales or a weigh-bridge for a proper figure
The Autocar one tested above( see scans ) , albeit quite highly specced, tipped the scales at 1535kg
Even a 116i 3-door weighs a fair bit more than 1350kg
ETA: The BMW book figure is 1505kg, less a 75kg passenger and 90% of a tank of fuel (47.2kg), so the car is 1383kg at base spec.

Here's the actual 2005 320d they tested, on 16" wheels, half a tank of fuel, no occupants ( Autocar don't include the tester and passenger in the tested weight - if they did the 1235kg as tested weight for the GT86 would be around 150kg lighter ....1085kg )
It's a smidge over 1500kg - claimed weight was 1490kg ( it shows the claimed and tested weight just under the car drawings at the top of the page )
That test car had Dakota leather, CD changer and sat nav ......but even without those I can't see it being lighter than an E46 CSL without aircon, radio etc (1385kg although CSLs with the options were more like 1420ish kg )

Out of interest, my other car actually comes in lighter than the manufacturer's spec - it's sold as a lightweight car so that surprised me!

As long as you don't mind me standing over you in my thong, coated in fake tan and baby oil, veins bulging out of my overdeveloped thighs.
I thought all of this chat was a bit odd, then I worked it out. It's a repmobile, so this explains all those "Call 076678@+#%+ for a good time boys" type messages scrawled on the back of truckstop bog doors.RobM77 said:
Thanks - This is of course actually enhancing my point even more, which is now "good for a 1500kg car"

It's not often that the cars they weigh are lighter than the manufacturer claims but the odd one does crop up - like the GT86.Out of interest, my other car actually comes in lighter than the manufacturer's spec - it's sold as a lightweight car so that surprised me!
Often the weight of the options ( press demos are usually highly specced ) adds on a fair bit but sometimes it's hard to imagine what car the manufacturer actually weighed. I think some of them must get weighed with no fluids on board, oil, coolant, washer fluid, transmission oils, petrol etc to achieve the base spec weights!
