Have looked at three over the last couple of weeks. This is what I thought. It might save someone a journey or encourage them to take a look.

Yellow CV8 at Car Mill on Autotrader

Mainly original, bill for a cat back exhaust, decent interior. O/S lower wing/wheelarch rot, part service history incuding fixing clutch fluid leak, bonnet and door chips touched in with what seemed non-matching yellow, on scuffed alloys with recent budget tyres (easily dealt with), needs oil change, little early history.
Seemed like nice people to deal with.

Red CV8 at Rydal Motors on Autotrader

Inspected this in the rain! Refurbished wheels on good Bridgstones, Ripshifter, worn gearknob, interior a little dirty, engine bay sound deadening perishing, needs oil change, 1 missing MOT, taken as part ex, previous owner apparently an engineer.

Blue CV8 at Greenwing Motors on Autotrader

This has been on a previous post. Looked the better of the three. Didn't spot the repainted flanks, though. Recently had Vauxhall discs/pads fitted by local non-franchise dealer, couple of missing MOTs.

Hope this helps.

What is wrong with these people, I thought that all HSV car owners loved their cars.

What a waste.

A common issue, and imho hardly a reason to not buy a car smile

Just thought having seen both cars, the info might be helpful.

Yeh, if a mint, low ownership CV8 came up, I would be interested.

I'm about to put my VZ C8 on the market. It's about as spot on as you'd expect from a 133,000 miler, two owner including VX, absolutely complete (mainly MF) service history and few minor upgrades. The only real downside is some stone chipping on the bonnet. I have to say that considering these cars are considered 'cheap', they're very well made. I'm under fair bit of pressure from my daughters not to sell the car, because I used it to drop them off at school everyday, but after 122,000 miles and more and more business miles it's time for a change, and it takes up a lot of room in the garage. I'll be advertising it on PH in due course.

Nonsense. Buy on condition, these cars are getting on a bit now and chavvy body kit aside, most of the special HSV bits will have worn out and been replaced long ago. The unmodified, well cared for cars will be worth the most in future so look out for these.

+1 when I first got my CV8 I really wanted to get a VXR bonnet for it... now I don't think I'd fit one even if there was no cost involved!

I'd still like the additional guages but they're easily retrofitted if I find myself with a lazy couple hundred quid...

Obviously I'm biased, but I love the clean look of a CV8 (on VXR wheels) biggrin
