What does His Lordship drive?
Depends on the weather I had one new back in '94 and loved it. And then crashed it.
My daily is a CGT
My fun and summer car is 997T
And Ive got a couple of old BMW's and a Skoda
I don't think anything(*) with 6 or 8 cylinders is a ladylike/poofta means of travel. Likewise hooning in an S2000 at the end of the rev range is more likely to cause something to exit ones holy ring rather than invite entry.
(*)those cars designed to be coupes/convertibles, rather than a shopping trolley with the roof cynically cut off.
Also, it doesn't take Stephen Hawking to realise a load of reasons why the roof might be up in hot weather. More luggage space (2x), evading pollen, pollution, stench, cooling down with AC, roof broken, unstable hair-dos, about to cain it up the autobahn etc. etc.

But mainly AC on when it's this hot. (*)those cars designed to be coupes/convertibles, rather than a shopping trolley with the roof cynically cut off.

Not an age, no. A gender. A girl driving a convertible is perfectly acceptable and often looks like a good fit between woman and machine. A bloke driving a convertible looks like a knob. Any convertible, at any price point.
^this^ all day long. 2 of them.....in the same place!
Why let it bother you?
I finished with my clients, packed the clippers and curling tongs away and thoroughly enjoyed my drive home in the sun last night with the mx5's roof down, I couldn't give a monkeys what others think I love having the roof down, while giving the car some stick along the country roads between work and home.

Direct the AC to the floor and flip the roof back. Perfect.

I have a bicycle, and that's quite similar to a motorbike, other than it's slower. Even countersteering works. Much closer than any car could ever be.
I also have a motorcycle, a convertible and a coupe. Neither of the cars are anything like a motorcycle, and given that I wear a full face lid I can't see how the wind in my hair would make a car seem more like the bike.
You wouldn't with a full face helmet, I have a 1955 Triumph T100 and on a summers evening with an open face helmet 'blasting' along at 50 you get all the lovely and some not so lovely smells of the countywide which seem to be intensified after a hot day. When I get in my convertible I get a similar experience to riding the bike insofar as the smells and feeling of the air flowing past you. A major plus with the convertible is of course no mutually painful impact with bumble bees.I also have a motorcycle, a convertible and a coupe. don't forget the noises of the car as well bouncing back off walls, hedges etc.
I was always one of the convertible haters.. until I test drove and bought my SLK 55 AMG. I don't see myself as flashy or a tosser, but if I look like one to others, then that's their problem. I was waiting at lights yesterday as a white van drove past and yelled 'w*nker' at me. Not sure what he gains other than feeling in some way he was one-upping on me. Well if he's happy, then that's great.. I'll just continue on in my V8

I think there's a moment in your life (not age related) that you care less about what others think.
I used to be so conscience I didn't like wearing sunglasses when wearing a suit as I used to think that everybody would be looking at me thinking I'm a knob.
Now I've come to accept that I am a bit of a knob!
However, I hated my first experience of driving a convertible as I felt so unsafe and exposed which is why I've not owned one yet. I'm used to it now and once I get rid of the A1 I currently have I'm swaying towards the new A3 convertible.

Indeed my car sounds like a WW2 Messerschmitt fighter and it scares sheep and cows.don't forget the noises of the car as well bouncing back off walls, hedges etc.
Back in the late 90s I bought a beautiful XK8 convertible. Think about how st most cars looked back then and you'll know what I mean. Anyway, I picked it up from a dealer in Southampton, put the roof down and drove home...through the middle of Shirley. Traffic was heavy so it didn't take long before I started getting the wrong sort of attention and in hindsight I might as well put a condom on my head and yelled "I'M A MASSIVE COCK WITH A TERRIFICALLY BULBOUS, PURPLE HELMET". Kept the car for 6 months then sold on. Never again.
Land Rovers with no roofs (or doors) are very cool. Make mine a series IIA
