Hi All,

I have just bought a 2010 l200 barbarian. I’m have an issue with the Kenwood head unit currently (Model: DNX7240BT). When I got the truck the roof aerial wasn't plugged into the back of the head unit for some reason, so I connected this and it all worked fine for a week. I then started getting issues when I was on the phone via bluetooth the head unit would switch off and restart all of a sudden. The other day it switched off by itself and now won’t switch back on!!

I have pulled it forward, checked fuses and that its getting power and all that seems fine. There were two loose wires (yellow and black, right hand side as you look at the plug) on the main 22 pin plug, I have re-soldered these back in to make sure they are secure and still no luck!! Since I have had this issue I have noticed that sometimes when I lock/unlock the truck it locks and then a few seconds after it beeps three times and flashes the hazard lights. Could this be related or something separate?

I’m at a loss as to what it could be, so any advice/ideas would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Pete

hi pete, i work for a mitsi dealer, the kenwood units are a bit of a pain to be honest, and afraid to say that one is one of the ones that gives the most trouble, the last software update for it was 2011, so if you can get it powered up, you should have 2 lives and an earth, as with most aftermarket radios (theres no can-bus type stuff) then if you're confident with that sort of thing, update it using the software available here http://kenwood-electronics.co.uk/car/oem/mitsubish... and if that doesn't cure its issues the only real options are live with the issues or change it for a better unit.

the alarm will be an aftermarket cobra unit fitted at the docks when the truck arrived (all l200 arrive as very basic steel wheel open back pick ups and are specced up at portbury docks) these dont play up to much to be honest, so hopefully you have the manual for the alarm with the trucks book/paperwork which should give an insight into what the 3 beeps mean.

I have a kenwood 4230dab in my 2014 Mitsubishi l200 barbarian Black edition, overnight the DAB is not working, no sound, can’t change channels & the Bluetooth will not connect to my iPhone

It was all working perfect the other day, I will add FM CD & the reversing camera all works fine
