No not selling mine but just looking at prices and wondered if anyone that watches these knows if they're selling

Funny you should mention that because since buying my secondhand SL 63 I am truly impressed with the N/A engine and the MCT gearbox and have always liked the SLS (it would have to be silver with a red interior and carbon ceramic brakes) I have been noting the prices for a while now and it seems that a circa 10K mileage car goes for around £140-£150K.
At this moment in time I can't justify getting one but will be keeping a careful log on prices over the next few years, plus I love the hooligan factor and just about everything else the SL has in bucket loads. I haven't driven an SLS yet but I can't see any reason why it should disappoint.
Forgot to add that of the cars for sale on here as far as I can tell the same cars have been for sale for a while, but then again does any £150K car sell that quickly? What were they new?

Yes, £150k cars do sell....if (like anything) they're the right price.

I do watch these and it seems SLS's that are not GT's or Blackies may have found their current market price - they accelerated hard in the last year from the £90-100k mark to the current £130-150k mark, and they've stayed there for a while now. Some cars aren't moving and there is now a good choice so this suggests the appreciation will slow or stop for the time being (and it appears the spate of buyers that were around just at the point I sold mine are drying up). They will go up again but they need to shift faster and the choice to diminish before that happens.

However, if you have a late GT-spec then it seems you can name your price!

I didn't realise they had been £90-100K that'll teach me to pay attention. Do you know what the average retail price for one was in 2012? leaving aside Carbon Ceramics.
It would seem I've just got to wait it out until the current bubble bursts then.

I don't think there's a bubble to burst with the SLS, there simply isn't enough of them.

There seems to be about 290 sls 63 AMG in the UK. I'd say it was more bubble than supply and demand but then I have the benefit of time on my side.
I may have to eat humble pie at a later date but as someone who gambles on buying and selling FTSE 100 company shares as a profitable sideline who am I to speculate.

I bought one new on the last day of 2011 for £130k, sold it twenty months later for £90k. Judging by the few cars currently available it would now be worth 150+
They will only go one way, it's not a bubble, get one while you can.

Thanks that ties in exactly with what someone who deals with this type of car told me Monday evening. At this moment in time I'm considering another motorbike plus a few things around the house so major expenditure has to go in other directions. Which could go either way for me if they go up as many predict I'll be annoyed with myself or if they do what my associate tells me is already happening I may ultimately be a happy chappy.

Ohhh is your associate beginning to manufacture the SLS again?

No but he is in the process of buying one for stock so I'll be interested in what happens. Like I say I have no alternative other than to wait as I'm not able to buy one at this moment in time.

I don't follow your associate's logic, if he believes a car will fall in price why on earth would you buy one for stock??

Have you looked into financing? Since the cars are very likely to continue increasing in value you would have your SLS and your equity gains would certainly offset any costs associated with running and finance. Sweat your capital!

I didn't mention nor has he what price he is prepared to pay for it. I'm not in the slightest bit interested in financing the purchase and as I have said it may pan out in the future I will have a smug grin on my face or if the price goes too high not buy one.

If he's in the process of buying a car as you have clearly stated that dictates he's buying at current values.....

If you're not interested in financing you're probably better off with a SL.

I will just have to wait until I see him next month as to whether a deal was done and yes I guess if he has to pay what the current market dictates the deal may not be done.

As I am someone who believes things go round in cycles/peaks and troughs I am quite happy to accept if the price of these cars continue to go up it will be my loss and leave it it that.
But if say the market in cars crashes like it did before I will be quite happy to put some poor soul out of his misery by offering to take the car off his hands for cash at an adjusted market value, again this whole idea is speculation but I do have the benefit of time on my side.

Anyone know how many SLS coupes and roadsters are actualy in the uk now.?

One mercedes dealer informs me that he was informed that 80% of the SLS models that came into the uk have now been exported!

Also anyone know if there are any black editions(i know there is at least 1 of these) and final editions in the uk?
