Great weather so had top down on my 2008 V8 Vantage, got home and top would not come back up. Had to raise roof manually and lock into position. Has anyone had this problem and what has caused it?

Any messages on the dashboard? Could be a number of things. Low battery, roof control module, roof motor. Hope you get it sorted!

Thanks for input. Nothing on dashboard. Sounds like an expensive fishing trip!

Always have the car running when you operate the roof. If the car is new, the fabric can be tight, so maybe "help it" a couple of times, and it will release to make it easier??

Try reseting both windows
i.e.
Lower passenger window down and hold switch down for approx 5 secs till you hear a noise like a small "ping"
Raise passenger window and hold switch in the up position until the you can hear the "ping" again.
Do exactly the same for the drivers window.

Failing that it could be the Roof Module, I had to replace mine last July (£500 for the module itself, fitting and coding to the car = Total cost of £750).
The module is located within the wheel arch liner behind the drivers seat (on RHD cars).

The strange thing for me was that although the Roof Module failed, the electric roof still worked, but I was getting all sorts of dashboard warning lights.
The modules are manufactured by a German company (Webasto) and were in short supply last year and mine had to be removed from a car in the factory production line.

Thanks to all who responded re: roof failure. Reset the windows but haven't opened the roof since it stalled, making sure I've another pair of hands on standby to assist with manual closing!!
