Wanted one since I was a sprogg, but I am a bit lanky. How do they compare to the inside of an mk1 mx5 for space? Can just get in the mx okay, will I get in an x1/9?

I can't compare with the mx5 but I'm 6ft and fit in my X1/9 just fine. I find them really comfortable, did Le Mans and back in mine a few years ago without any problems.

I am 6 feet and 2 inches tall, and 13 stone (or at least I was when I had an X1/9 - I am much fatter now) and the X1/9 was very cramped for me. I still enjoyed driving it though.

I have an x/19 and I am 6 foot 2 and 14 stone. I fit comfortably only just. super car. not the fastest thing but handles and drives very well and revs sweetly. Prices are slowly rising but there are still good cheap ones out there. Weak points are rust - as with any car of this period and crunchy synchros on 2nd and 3rd. The earlier cars have a thinner seat so are easier for big uns to get into. Oh if the rear strut towers are rotting then walk away its terminal

I am 6ft 1 and 17 stone and I fit on no problem, I have 3 x 1300's, they are definatly rising in value, getting some parts for 1300s is very difficult, but I love them...

A late response from me, I'm 6ft and found the x1/9 was too small for me - my legs rubbed against the steering wheel. By contrast, the mx5 mk2 I have now is fine in all regards
