I think you'd struggle. They are pretty hot on wild camping.

I heard that. But if someone turns up to tell us to move on and we are too drunk to drive. What will they do then?

They'll move the vehicle at your cost. If you're lucky, one of you won't get nailed for DD.

If you're a copper, wouldn't you know? Or at least ask one of your colleagues rather than random people on the internet?

Go for a 'climbers' camp site, less kids about, more adults doing the kind of thing you want to do.

Because the New Forest isn't that 'wild' i.e. it's hard to get that far away from a road, village etc. You could do it, however you'll have to be prepared to park and hike for a quite a while to get somewhere remote.

NB. I live in the Forest so please don't make a mess/leave litter and st everywhere!

Tbh if were a few of you bivvying you'd probably get away with it, but a dozen of you it is very is unlikely you'd go unnoticed. I'd be tempted to go for a quieter formal site that has no facilities as it less likely to have families such as http://www.campingintheforest.co.uk/england/new-fo... its within walking/staggering distance of Lyndhurst for a pint and a curry too. Never been there so can't actually vouch for it though........

We don't study local New Forest by-laws and don't know every law in the country.

Will probably have to just go to a official site and put up with the complaints.

If you are hell bent on proper wild camping then probably the nearest place will be Exmoor or Dartmoor, 3 hours further up the road.

Probably won't happen in the Forest, but if one of you happens to be a Camping and Caravan Club member, check out some of the CL sites (think that's what they're called). They generally tend to be farmers who rent out a part of their field for small groups. Sometimes they have electric, but if you can find one without electric hookup, you should find it'll be a smaller one and probably quiet so they may be more amenable to single sex groups.

I'm staying at one this weekend (albeit in Bristol) and there's only 5 pitches on it. 4th time me and the good lady have been there and we've always been the only ones on site.
