I've had shingles but it was ages ago, 10 + years. For me I had a mark (like I'd been wearing a hat) on my forehead initially, it felt a bit weird but didn't really hurt - Then it developed a bit and I became ill and the spots developed further.

Had some pills from the doc and a couple of weeks off from college and I was good to go again.

Hopefully you haven't got it as it hurts like hell.

I had shingles at 14.

I had no temperature or shivering when I contracted it. Both the glands on the back of my neck swelled up and I got a terrible neck ache because of it. Next morning we went to the doctors and he said the rash would spring up before I got home and he was right. It only affected the right part of my body and in particular my face. By the second day, I looked like Harvey Dent. Being the 1970s they gave me Mum an antibiotic paint to apply which stank to high heaven and because of the location of my spots seeped through into my mouth giving me appalling bad breath.

After a few hours the spots began to turn yellow and started to flake off. Having them all up in my scalp meant that I left a nice crispy trail on every pillow, cushion or chair I leant against. After about two weeks all gone but the glands stayed swollen for at least a couple of months and my immune system was shot away for at least a year, got every flu bug and cold going.

Enjoy!

(Hope I didn't put anyone off their lunch.)

I had shingles when I was in my mid 20s, it developed on the left side of my face, felt like I'd been out in the sun and had got sunburnt, had a few lumps/spots on the affected area and a huge bump behind my left ear, when it was eventually diagnosed (useless medic) I was medevaced to a hospital, it was starting to get into my eye, within a couple of hours I couldn't see as the swelling was closing my eye, spectacular 3D pain in my head along with it, like some one had shoved a garden trowel into my brain.

Doctor said if it had gone on much longer I'd have lost my sight in the eye, very unpleasant.
