After 2 years of planning "fun" we now have the land, the planning permission, the mortgage offer and a builder...bloody hell we're actually going to do it! bounce

The builder will be prime contractor and will PM the whole lot...we'd love to do a true "self build" but the day jobs get in the way. The builder seems happy to just work off a "sign the bottom of the quote" basis, however we'd like a little more protection and formality I guess in case it all starts going wrong.

Is there a make your own contract pack available? I've heard about JCT contracts but want to know if there's anything more suitable.

Thanks

I use Homepro home building works contracts with all my clients, it covers both you as the client and the builder, really straight forward to fill out letting both parties know exactly what is and isn't included.
Search for it on the net and it's free to download.
