Cheats in Current Games?
Discussion
Is this still a thing? I can't remember the last time I saw a type in code or button sequence on a game.
What I'd really like to do is see all of the games I just can't play, like Alien Isolation. I can't stand playing it, but it's so well designed I'd just like to wander around the space station. I was totally absorbed until the poxy alien turned up and that ruined it for me. I liked the quests, and the bits with people and the androids were fine.
Also Alan Wake was a bit flawed in terms of combat but the scenery was nice and I was curious about the plot.
Is there a way? I like the way you can cheat on Half-Life and Steam knows and turns off achievements; I'm happy with that.

u,d,l,r, a & start was sonic 1
Sonic 2 had the sound test - 19,65,9,17 etc
Sonic 3 had the incredibly hard u,u,d,d,u,u,u,u,u
Super Mario was better - on level 2 you can smash through the bricks and run along the top of the screen and end up in world 7/8 in no time
Super Mario 3 had the run in the background by holding down button on the white block
New games don't really have them as far as I'm aware. Most people just make and download trainers.

Cheats had a place when games were legitimately hard, they're not really needed now since most games are so easy.
+1 Same goes for things like walk throughs. You'd never need one now but I don't think I would have got through tomb raider 3 (I think it was 3) without one.No need for cheats when you have games like ARMA.
Jump on the editor few hundred men in a grouped attack.
Decide realistic 1 shot death is too much.
Spawn ZSU for quad cannon invincibility.
10 squads of ultra accurate AI have an AT guy each.
Insta death - quad cannon style.
Go through every group deleting everything AT.
2000 rounds of unhindered death dished out.

All of the GTA cheats to my knowledge are about calling certain numbers on the mobile.
Its a clever way of doing it. I don't cheat on that game mind as it invalidates your %complete.
GTA IV had that, you could call certain numbers to activate cheats, also you could call numbers you find on billboards and whatnot and hear funny recorded messages. You could also call the police to come, it did add a certain depth to it - they dropped it for V though. Its a clever way of doing it. I don't cheat on that game mind as it invalidates your %complete.
Most GTA games require you to use certain controller sequences.
