Well, it launched earlier today and I've already fired up my 3-month free trial. I have to say, it seems absolutely excellent - it's like owning the entire iTunes Store library without it taking up any space on your phone! I've gone for the Family membership so that my Wife can benefit too, so for £15 per month I think it seems like excellent value.

After Apple's Taylor Swift-induced U-turn, I can see the trial costing them a hell of a lot of money - they're paying the music companies $0.02 per play. eek

Presumably it requires iTunes?

If so, I'm out.

And AC/DC!

I think the interface is slicker than Spotify 's and I like how my own music is kept separate.

I quite enjoyed the process of choosing my favourite music during the sign up process and it's come up with some pretty solid recommendations for me to listen to.

I can't work how to find a list of my recently played songs, but that's a minor niggle.

I will probably stick with Spotify as it comes included with my phone contract , bit hopefully this competition will encourage them to improve their interface. Apple's just seems slicker and more polished.

I'm currently using Deezer in 'free mode' At the moment, and was considering subscribing to either Deezer or Spotify, so I would be very interested in how Apple Music performs before making my decision.

Apple usually take an idea that someone else already has in use, then make it much better, so it will be interesting to see what they have done with on-demand music streaming.

What's your beef with iTunes, just out of interest?

So they do. Is that recent? I'm sure they weren't on there when I first got Spotify.

Having played with Apple Music all evening it does make Spotify 's app seem horribly dated and basic. It just seems much easier to browse and find new music with Apple.

Appeared today. Might have a look at this when they launch on Android.

Its hideous. Its like Apple read the how to program (on windows) book and done the exact opposite. It might work ok on OSX but on windows its at about flash player levels of hate.

It's hideous on OS X as well, hate just about everything about it! I still don't really understand it and I've been sing Macs for years.

I'm running in Parallel with my Spotify subscription at the moment. I've had Spotify since it was an invite only service, and i may well ditch it in favour of apple music after this, mainly in terms of the User Interface and discovery abilities.

Also, I never did understand people who loathe iTunes. It's fine!

I've wondered at those who justify £60+ per month for Sky TV but £15 per month just to listen to music?

Each to their own and all that, but I'll stick to Radio 3 and switch it off when they're airing music I'm not keen on. hehe

I've listened to it a lot since upgrading yesterday afternoon and I'm a big fan.

Loving that it will play through the stereo in the car which is a big plus.

Are you using data for that?

And is there a minimum contract length?

Yes, im on a 20GB 4G contract so will see how much data I start to use.

Don't think so, I think you can just cancel as and when. Happy to be corrected though!
