Any help would be appreciated for my ongoing problem.
When I accelerate hard, the car seems to loose all power and the engine seems to kangaroo hop, but not severely. Gentle acceleration is fine, up to point. The car idles great, is fine if the revs are kept below 3,500. It has on different occasions just died, has run very lumpy and has had a small backfire, but these symptoms are rare.
I've put a new afm on it (multimeter test showed it was not 100%), new petrol pump, fuel filter, coil, rotor arm and amplification booster. The throttle position sensor has tested ok. I cant see any shorting on the ht leads. The dizzy cap is ok.
Does this look like a fuelling problem, as my next line of investigation will be the fuel pressure regulator? Or could it be something else.
Cheers.

Possibly already done when afm was changed but have you checked the hose from plenum to afm for a split which could open up as the engine torque comes on?

Oh, well that's the easy thing out the way that just leaves everything else. Next I would probably start with checking fuel pressure or possibly weak spark. Just a process elimination if you have access to the appropriate test gear otherwise you are just guessing. Good luck.

Do you run with the spark plug extenders?
Maybe worth removing them just for a test run.

Just to chuck this out there.....have you tried changing the Fuel Pump relay (in the passenger footwell above the battery) I had very similar symptons, stutter/dying momentarily at high revs on accel, was like that for many months and then one day stalled and wouldn't restart. Diangnosed as fuel pump relay and when I fitting the new one the stutter was gone for good.

If you do swap it, make sure you get the right one, with the diode, or you'll drain your battery when parked up.
