Noticing this more and more lately - fairly ordinary things being massively over dramatised.

Just had an email go round work offering driving tips due to the "extraordinary hot weather".

Yes we have had a couple of warm summer days up here and it is predicted to top 26 degrees where I am currently working, but 'extraordinarily hot'.......really?

The temperature record for this region of the UK is 35.2 degrees.

"extraordinary hot weather" is the type of language used by climate alarmists. So desperate are they prove things are really hotting up, anything that would normally be classed as a warm day suddenly becomes; "look see! global warming, its unprecedented!"

No its just summer and its just a bit of a hot day. The same thing has happened for millions of years. Every year.

Just stuff you should be doing anyway - checking coolant levels, making sure the windscreen is clean and you have washer fluid topped up etc.

Wrap your tyres in cool-bags an hour before leaving so that they aren't stuck fast to the road.

If you have leather seats, put talcum powder between your bottom cheeks to stop them sticking together.

Keep your eyes on the road and off the pavement flesh, unless you can swivel your eyes independently like moi.

All married men develop this ability over time.

- Going somewhere? Don't take a car made entirely of butter
- When parking, try not to leave your car under a giant magnifying glass, especially if your car is an ant
- Half your stopping distances in dry conditions
- Avoid travel unless travel is absolutely necessary in order to travel somewhere

This is very different to the hot weather we've experienced before. This is EXTREME weather and is evidence of Global Warming which is why it's so very dramatic. We can apparently expect more of this extreme weather, extreme hot periods in summer with temperature up to 30 degrees, and extreme cold weather in winter as low as -10, also flooding on flood plains will be common causing millions of £ of damage to houses built on flood plains.

Yep, my company's HR dept has just issued a couple of documents "Heatwave in Britain - How to cope", and "When heat becomes a problem".

I'm surprised our company hasn't issued this yet, they did last year, was a great read.

I assume the HR dept have taken steps to combat the heatwave by wearing short skirts and translucent blouses to work?

Is that to relieve the frustration at receiving pointless advice from HR departments? Might get a bit expensive in the long run, and surely toughened glass doesn't easily allow cracking, only "shattering into a thousand tiny pieces that you'll never find and will be getting picked up in the hoover for the next five years"?

That does very little for cooling the situation.

Truth is, I've not seen any of our HR dept so it's tricky to know if that would be a good or bad thing. They're in another part of the country.

It will consist of the following, a number of highly attractive just out of school/college girls faffing about, a couple of MILFY mid thirties women ( vaguely competent ), and a matriarchal HR Dept manager ( past her best ), often there's also a random metrosexual man who somehow ended up in HR ( ignore him, except when you want something actually sorted out ).
